Hotel Millenia Samoa

There were 3 of us my aunty and I from nz and my sister from Aussie. Our accomodation was done through my travel agent for 12 nights, the only hotel they have deluxe queen and single bed configuration left all other hotels around Apia town was fully booked due to the 150 years celebration of the Malua Fono. We checked in on the 10th of May 2025 and checked out on the 22nd May 2025. Our checked in was ok at 5ish pm porter took our bags and was given room 33 old fashioned key, room was old no telephone, if you need anything you walked to the reception even at night if you order food from the bar cos $10 tala to deliver any food to your room found that out when I ordered our first dinner, do I walked to the bar to order and they said either wait at the bar for it or come back in 15mins to pick it up so I went back to our room, strong smell of cleaning chemicals as we entered. The fridge was a struggle to open had to walk to reception to get someone to open it porter came even he was struggling to open but he managed found out they painted the whole fridge white inside the sealer and it was stuck cos they closed it while the paint was still wet. I walked to the bar to get our food came in plastic plate $25 per plate I ordered beef and chicken stir fry didn't even filled our tummy is like one scooped of rice and they flatten it to cover half of the plate and same as the stir fry, we left our plate on the table so I can take it out in the morning cos it was dark, that was a bad mistake around 1am during the night a squeaky noise woke me up turn on my phone flash light I saw a big mouse dash for the door it was munching on our squeaky clean dinner plate on the table. I got out of bed and used one towel to cover underneath the main door, in the morning we went for breakfast and yes I took the plastic plates out biffed it in the outside bin, after breakfast went back in our room and again our little Stuart the mouse came back, so I walked back to reception and asked if we can change our room, they asked why told them about little Stuart looks like they knew already so we moved to room 29. That's when our nightmare starts, fridge smells, cracked tiles on floor especially in bathroom, walls around toilet and handbasin smears with mould everywhere up and down, no milk in fridge only 2 teabags 2 coffee mix no sugar so throughout our stay they replenished it on the 7th day of our stay. 4 day (Tuesday) of our stay told housekeeping to just change the single bed as my queen bed I cover the top with my towel and sleep on top of it, and on Thursday I hang the sign "PMU" on the door as we went out to town we returned to the hotel around 4pm went inside our room was still dirty, Friday morning I went and told reception all they said was sorry, so I told the reception please clean our room Saturday morning as my sister will arrived from Australia later in the afternoon, I told her I will hang the PMU sign on the door as we will leave early in the morning. Excellent service. Exactly what I wanted - god dining, quiet, close to town.

Airport shuttle gave the impression of things to come. Dirty ripped seats and aircon not working properly. Couldn’t feel the cool air till the trip almost finished. Great location but not a single housekeeping was done as advertised. Some staff need training to greet customers with smiles. Only stayed here due to word of mouth but I should have trusted the poor ratings and previous reviews. Lesson learned.

I did not like that i had bed bugs in my bed & that i had to change rooms at 1am. I did not like he fact that i went to the front desk multiple days & was unable to take with a hotel manager. I still believe i should be compensated and would like to speak to someone in charge.

In need of renovations. The pool has many missing tiles and can be dangerous for kids. Our room was not serviced the whole week we stayed there. We had to ask for toilet paper and towels at the front desk when needed. The staff are very nice at the front desk and restaurant but housekeeping was a let down.

Millenia pool was in terrible condition apart from that everything was amazing.
