The sound insulation is very poor, there is no elevator and you need to carry your luggage upstairs. There is no outlet in the bathroom to plug in a hair dryer. There is no hotel service staff on duty at night, and the hotel has basically no service at all.

I stay for 2 nights at this hotel. I have not problem with the hotel or the staff, actually i think is a beautiful hotel. but if you like to sleep at night oh dear, extremely tiny noisy road, where you hear everything, drunkers shouting, cleaning trunks passing all the time... 2 nights and I did not sleep at all.

Nadat we bij August verbleven, waren we benieuwd of Julien hieraan kon tippen. We vinden het pand smaakvol en warm ingericht. Op de kamer genoten we van lekker ruikende shampoo etc. van Aesop. Kamer aan de voorkant wat ons betreft wat gehorig, maar goed in welke stad is dat niet. Het ontbijt stelde ons beide ochtenden teleur. De granola was op en het gekookte en gebakken eitje lag naast een fantasieloos stuk hard brood. En dat terwijl er net om de hoek zo’n heerlijke bakkerszaak te vinden is, a fresh tart. Het personeel mag wat ons betreft ook met wat meer liefde, interesse en passie hun werk doen. Dat zou dit hotel net wat meer de allure geven die het verdient.

Alles aan dit hotel is goed! De locatie, de kamers, het personeel, echt alles. We kregen een gratis upgrade naar een ruimere kamer die geweldig was. Het hele hotel is smaakvol ingericht maar de kamer overtrof onze verwachtingen. Echt prachtig en van alle comfort voorzien. Een enorme aanrader dit hotel, we hebben het er heerlijk gehad!

Na een prima verblijf in het zusterhotel August, hadden we hoge verwachtingen van Hotel Julien, dat in het centrum van Antwerpen ligt. Helaas werd ons verblijf al snel een teleurstelling. Bij aankomst kregen we zonder enige vraag een rondleiding, iets waar we helemaal niet om hadden gevraagd. We hadden liever meteen naar onze kamer willen gaan om ons rustig te installeren. Daarnaast bleek de lift niet te werken, wat voor ons met zware koffers een behoorlijke opgave was. Het personeel moest de bagage zelf naar de derde verdieping dragen, wat absoluut niet te doen was voor hen – of voor ons, in dat geval. Ze hadden duidelijk te weinig handen om alles soepel te laten verlopen. Het ontbijt was wel oké, maar ook daar was het personeel duidelijk overbelast. Er was slechts één medewerker voor de hele ontbijtzaal, wat resulteerde in lange wachttijden en een chaotische sfeer. Het was gewoon te druk voor één persoon om alles bij te houden, wat het algehele comfort van het ontbijt zwaar beïnvloedde. Al met al was het verblijf bij Hotel Julien niet wat we hadden gehoopt. De locatie is prima, maar de service en faciliteiten lieten zeker te wensen over. Ik zou aanraden om goed na te denken voordat je hier boekt, vooral als je waarde hecht aan een vlotte en comfortabele ervaring.
