Horrible stay in this hostel, would totally NOT recommend it. Booked a room here after exploring the Acatenango volcano. One our friends left his wallet at the desk after paying for our room. Camera footage shows that the receptionist (Reyna Izabel) takes our wallet & a few moments later, 400 quetzals are missing… Despite the camera evidence, the hostel refused to give back our money - absolutely disgusting. Never staying here again, you better watch out.

Our experience at Funk Yeah Hostel was extremely disappointing. After paying cash at the front desk, we mistakenly left our wallet behind. It was later found that the receptionist, Reyna Izabel Aguilar Palacios, had taken the wallet, with 400 quetzals missing. Security camera footage clearly captured her taking the money, yet despite this evidence, the hostel refused to return our funds. Since we were leaving that evening, we didn’t have the time to involve the police. We will never stay at this hostel again.

Comfortable beds, good prices and ideal for a place to stay after a volcano hike. Also very helpful you can book the hikes in the hostel. Also free water which is always helpful. No lockers are provided and hostel loud until late, so hard to sleep.

Cheap prices, comfy enough beds, social hostel and free water to. Super friendly and helpful staff and a great location as-well. Only downsides would be the wifi, which is hit and miss, and no lockers available, however secure rooms so not too much of an issue.

We had a great stay at this hostel, comfortable beds and pillows just what we needed after the volcano hike, which we also booked next door and was amazing so very handy. Facilities were clean and a nice communal area.
