Our charming hotel occupies a traditional Malagasy residence dating from 1930 at the top of the royal hill, right in the historic heart of Antananarivo and just a stone's throw from the recently renovated Queen's Palace.
We're reopening after 4 years of renovation! Just 5 unique suites, all with breathtaking views over the lower town, furnished with antiques, photos and old paintings to immerse you in Malagasy history. All modern comforts: bathroom with antique bathtub & wifi.
Our restaurant with terrace offers a 180° panoramic view of Tana. We serve Malagasy, Mascarene (Mauritius and Reunion) and European cuisine. We also offer a Malagasy tasting menu, so you can sample several local specialties in a single meal.
To make the most of the sunset on the terrace, we offer a “sundowner” (aperitif at sunset) with foie gras and white wine, or a Malagasy version (tsaky tsaky and homemade coconut punch).
A small green garden will make you forget that you're in the heart of the tumultuous capital.

If you truly want a unique and wonderful experience, then you must stay at Lokanga Boutique Hotel. Housed in a French/ Malagasy building, the architect and design is amazing. Rooms are very comfortable with high-quality sheets and pillows, and a view of the city— like none other. This boutique hotel, very close to the Queens Palace, offers well designed rooms, excellent food, and superior customer service. One of the most unique hotels I’ve ever stayed in – and I stayed in quite a few. Highly recommend.

Quelle belle surprise. Un hôtel dans une ancienne maison de Tananarive décoré avec délicatesse. La propriétaire m’a expliqué que la quasi totalité du mobilier et de la décoration provenait de sa famille. Chaque chambre a sa propre identité avec des baignoires à pied lion, du mobilier et des photos de famille. La terrasse est incroyable avec une vue imprenable sur toute la ville, le salon avec sa cheminée et son coin cosy était idéal pour cette période de juin plutôt fraîche.

Cet hôtel est un des lieux magiques de Tana. Si vous avez envie de vivre un vrai moment malgache, de retrouver des objets insolites et d'époque tout en ayant tout le confort moderne, alors choisissez le Lokanga. L'accueil de Fabiola et son équipe est extraordinaire, la nourriture du restaurant est vraie, raffinée et délicieuse, la vue est incroyable et les chambres vintage et confortables. L'hôtel vient de rouvrir après avoir été complètement rénové, c'est le moment d'y aller !
