We arrived to St. Thomas excited about visiting for the first time and the USVIs did not disappoint! The only issue we had all week was the check in process at Pt. Pleasant. I recognize they were understaffed but I was not prepared for all of the issues we would have checking in. We arrived early (1PM) check in was 4 so we fully expected to enjoy the resort until our room was ready. We ate lunch at the onsite restaurant (Sand and Sea - mediocre food) and walked to Coki Point through the Margaritaville resort. We had not gotten a call from the reception so when 4pm rolled around we went back assuming that everything was ready for our check in. Not the case. We were instructed to continue to wait and that they would call us when the residence was ready. So we went to CostULess (DO NOT RECOMMEND unless you are staying for a long time or with a large group as most items are in bulk and it was chaotic). We finally got a call around 5:30 but were told that the front desk closed at 6 so we needed to get there quickly or work with security to get access to our room. We hurried back to get checked in and were told where our room was. It was on the hilltop which provided an AMAZING view but parking... there was NONE! We had to park about 1/4 mile away from our residence and were not given any assistance from the staff. We could not locate the room as the numbers were not in order nor were there any signage. Dani (front desk) was a godsend - she was seriously the best and I could tell she was stressed. She was so apologetic and sent someone to assist us in finding our space. When we realized it was so far from parking, it was too late, and they help left. So we made trips from our rental to the room - with 3 large luggage bags, and multiple groceries for the week. There were 3 of us and we made 4 trips each back and forth. We were hot and irritated by the time we got all of our luggage and groceries to the room. After this, the stay was wonderful. The view amazing, location close to Red Hook, and the condo was excellent. Knowing what I know now, I would have approached things differently. I would have insisted that we had help unloading our luggage and would not have grocery shopped at CostULess. It was a nightmare. I would rather have local items in small quantities and enjoy the food trucks, etc. around the islands. Not sure I would return to Pt. Pleasant but I will certainly return to USVIs!!!
