Great little hotel Great stay in a lovely little village pub. The room was spacious and clean and had a lovely little sitting room of the main bedroom, which was great for early morning cuppa. Breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

Quiet and quaint village stay We stayed over for a family meal occasion. The service, welcome and meal were all excellent. The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. The room was also nice and quiet. The only thing that could be improved, and I did mention this at reception, was the lack of suitable electric socket near a mirror, the hairdryer supplied in the room did not reach the mirror meaning you could not see your hair whilst drying it. A simple fix would be an electrical extension lead or hairdryer with a much longer flex.

I have stayed at the Lamb several times over the last few years and have had a delightful stay. My visit last week was not so good sadly and that's probably my fault as I neglected to book a premium room (I wasn't given an option on the site that we booked with) The room that we had was very tired although somewhat clean but needed a total revamp.; empty screw holes in the shower and no leg room on the loo. The carpet leading to the bedroom has a horrible stain and the owners need to address this. My Partner had breakfast and said it was fantastic; however there was confusion at lunch. The Lamb advertises as dog friendly, but apparently not in the restaurant. It was my Mothers 87th Birthday and whilst the food was amazing, there was a rather annoyed atmosphere. Perhaps just say that dogs are welcome in the Bar area to avoid confusion, I love the Lamb, however I think that it's maybe time to re-invest and tidy it up, I didn't enjoy my stay this time sadly but I hope that you can get it back to the wonderful standards of a few years ago

Exceptional excellence without compromise. On arrival I was greeted by very friendly and helpful staff both on reception and in the bar. My room was spotlessly clean and well provided to allow for a perfect nights sleep in an extremely comfortable bed. Downstairs the bar had a good selection of beers and an even more impressive selection of wines, all of which can be served by the glass at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is well spaced out enabling private conversations not to be overheard, which can be useful! Menu selection was amazing. I started with Duck Hash Browns topped with a hens egg and garnish, a unique local favourite. This I followed with Venison and accompanying vegetables, the best Venison that I have tasted for many years. Next morning the breakfast choice was equally as inspiring and excellent. I cannot speak highly enough of the chef and staff. I would consider the food and service to be at least five star if not Michelin quality at what must be the best Gastro Pub in the whole of Sussex, East and West all at very reasonable prices. I highly recommend a visit. I cannot wait to be back.

A great stay, impressive room, very good food We look forward to staying here again. We will want the same impressive bedroom, over the dining room and we will probably make the same choices at dinner (book a table, there were none spare on our Saturday evening). Our visit started well when we had a wonderfully warm welcome from a local. It was Friday evening with a group of men drinking and chatting outside; one came over to open the outer door for us fully laden visitors and then came in to open the inner door, wished us a pleasant stay and went back to his friends. The check-in was friendly, in fact all the staff were friendly and helpful. This is a busy local pub with good beer, a good restaurant and good rooms. Just my sort of place for a few relaxing nights away.
