So Kandi gave me the instructions to reserve for a month using international remittance. One option is my bank. Thus began the tortuous and tortuous experience that is now the worst experience I've had with any hotel in the world. When I sent the money, and then asked to confirm that it was received, I received several emails none of which were clear and were in broken English. Just in case, I sent the information again, and I saw that the deposit had been accepted on their end. Suddenly, I recieved an email saying that the previous price had changed. I sent several emails asking how this could be given they had already taken my money. They said it had not been received, there was no reservation and denied that the money was deposited. They said to call my bank. My bank confirmed that the money was deposited , that this sort of thing happened a lot and that they would open an investigation and notify the Rcmp pending the outcome (I'm Canadian). They did say this might be a good time to consider another hotel given that this had happened before and there was no guarantee that the hotel would cooperate or that local authorities would indeed help. They told me I would likely get the money back but it could take a while since we were depending on the hotel to cooperate and they had t tried to find the where the money went to this point. I emailed Kandi, told them they had the money, there would be an investigation and local authorities would be contacted. Silence. So I'm days away from arriving now and there is no reservation and Kandi is not responding. If you are visiting from another country, do not send money to Kandi unless you do not care whether they recieve it or whether you will ever get it back. It seems that someone at Kandi pocketed the money and Kandi doesn't really do anything about that. I will be posting this elsewhere, so forgive me if you've already read this. At this point I don't have any alternatives but I want to make sure that other foreigners who think they dealing with a company that has English speaking staff and wouldn't steal your money, that this is not a good choice.
