Clean, comfortable, big room with great view to the bay, and they very attentive and friendly. We’ll be back 😎 Limpio, confortable, recámara grande con una buena vista al mar, y ellos son muy atentos y amigables. Vamos a regresar. Se los recomiendo 👌

MOTEL 8 at premium prices….! I want to start by stating this place has some amazing potential. However, in its current condition at their premium prices it is a sham scam. Upon arrival, you are immediately greeted with junk and trash laying all around the outside of the property. It’s like arriving to someone’s home they are planning to renovate, started the process and never finished just leaving their crap everywhere. So the first immediate impression is already off to a bad start. Then there is the ocean view. This was the highlight. The view is beautiful. But then we go inside the property. Starting with the bedrooms. All completely outdated. Bed sheets appeared washed until one of our guests in our party found underwear in their bed, which also happened to be a mattress and bed frame on the floor with moisture all over the bottom mattress frame. In another room, the beds had to be pushed together for a couple and their baby to sleep comfortably. No big deal. Until we moved the beds and found white powder residue all over the carpet underneath where the beds where. Assuming this is a carpet “cleaner” and not some sort of bug repellent, the young couple had to vacuum their own room and lay down a blanket to make sure their one year old didn’t have any sort of reaction to whatever chemical this could have been. The beds themselves where ancient in this particular room. Completely over used and lopsided. This was the Wolf room. In all honesty even if the bathrooms are never updated, a can of paint and decent artwork could make these room feel a lot nicer. Just my opinion. Now to the main lodge, that really upset everyone. This place was a disgusting filthy disaster. And this is no stretch of exaggeration. The floors were so dirty, like not even swept at the minimum. We had to do this ourselves so the one year old wouldn’t pick things up and eat them. The kitchen was a COMPLETE MESS. It was like being in someone’s house who never cleans anything. Dirty dishes and food EVERYWHERE. We had to spend a big amount of time cleaning and mopping this area just so it was sanitary to be used after spending $800 on groceries to feed our crowd. When on vacation we should have not arrived to a place we spent $14,000 on to clean up other peoples messes and disgust. When we asked when was the last time this place was professionally cleaned, Nicole stated a month ago, yet people had just checked out before we got there. Umm- aren’t you supposed to clean after each guest?!? I could go and on about this. Now- you all get the idea. This place was a disaster. But the real kicker in all of it is how unprofessional the owners are. They were not willing to work with us at all on pricing break. They said if we don’t like it, we can leave and they will refund us. Well, we are a party of 10. People book Alaska 6 months to a year in advance, where are we going to go? We of course we looked, but upon researching, there weren’t any options big enough for our cr

Nicole and Sue were amazing and helpful hosts. Everything was clean. The beach is breathtaking. All of the people in our party (7 adults 1 teen) wish we had more time. Beds were so comfortable. We had a great balcony. Nice breakfast, basic grab and go.

Spent a wonderful night at King Halibut Lodge. The new management has gone to great lengths to make the rooms clean and comfortable. The eagles played all day on the beach in front of the lodge. The view from the deck of the water and distant peaks was so beautiful, I hated to turn away and go to bed. This is a gem of a lodge, very reasonable prices and a glimpse of unspoiled Alaska

Out of the way. Initial room was moldy. We changed rooms and new room (with balcony) was great. Staff person was very helpful and responsive.

The staff were so helpful when getting to the property and checking in. We also got some great recommendations and help locating some other things in the area. The beach in front of the property is beautiful. There was a good grab and go style breakfast. Beds were very comfortable.
