There is not enough water foundation in the hotel.
There is lightning sensor in the toilet without the bathroom. I need to shake my hands every 5 minutes outside the shower room when i was showering.
The shower water pressure is too low.
I set A/C temperature 21 degrees Celsius, but the room temperature always keeps 22.8 degrees Celsius.
Review of Our Stay at a Hotel in Amsterdam
We recently stayed at a hotel in Amsterdam and had a mix of positive and negative experiences. First, let's start with the positives:
What We Liked:
The premises were quite nice. There's a bar downstairs, which is a great spot to unwind. Additionally, there are a few supermarkets and a traditional Dutch bakery right across the street, which made grabbing snacks and breakfast super convenient. The location is fantastic—just an 8-minute walk to the train station and a 4-minute walk to the bus and tram stops, making it easy to get around the city.
The room was just as shown in the pictures. The mattress was comfortable, and there was ample space to organize our belongings during our stay. The receptionists were really kind and welcoming, which made our check-in and stay more pleasant. We also enjoyed the style of the hotel, especially the lovely lobby with two pianos, a comfortable sofa, and some books and local information to relax and read.
What We Didn't Like:
While we had read other reviews about noise issues and poor sound isolation, we thought we'd be okay with it, considering our home is located in a town center near nightclubs. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. The noise wasn't from people talking but from doors slamming. From 11 pm until 3 am, there was a constant door slamming that made the floor and walls in our room vibrate every two to three minutes. It felt like we were next to a staff room or had a very active neighbor. To be able to sleep, we had to watch a movie until the slamming finally stopped. This constant noise didn't allow us to rest properly, and we woke up later than we wanted the next day. The slamming continued on the following day, so we decided to stay out as late as possible to avoid it. Fortunately, around 2 am, the noise decreased, and we managed to sleep.
Additionally, there was a funny smell in the corridors and the toilet. I found it unpleasant, but my husband wasn't bothered by it. If you are sensitive to smells, this might be something to consider. However, if you're not particularly sensitive, like my husband, it might not be an issue.
Conclusion:
Overall, while the hotel's location, amenities, and staff were great, the noise from door slamming and the smell in the corridors were significant drawbacks for us. If these issues could be addressed, it would make for a much more pleasant stay.

Breakfast is 20 Euros, which is not bad. It is a good breakfast in the Netherlands, a typical Western breakfast. The location is just beside the subway, which is very convenient to go everywhere. The room has no toiletries, no kettle, and no slippers. So I think the price/performance ratio is average, that is, the hotel has a rooftop and various activities, and the price is high
Because we lost our passport, the hotel reception is very nice!
They willing to help us pass the stored luggage to our arrange courier , would have been needing to take 14 hours flight if they didn’t help. Very appreciated for their service to hotel guests!
The place is nice, across there is a cafe.
Close to rai.
Their service is excellent. Appreciated that for the last bit !
The hotel location is excellent, which locates in a quiet and safe neighbourhood, very convenient to go to the attraction spots, just several metro stops away. The hotel itself is very close to the metro station, just 3-5min walking distance.
Everything is great except the sink at the bathroom is blocked.
Cost effective hotel. Quite many people stayed in this hotel which I didn’t aware while booking. Not bad. This is the only hotel I stayed on this trip that there’s separation between shower and bathroom, which is really good to my family.
I recently stayed at Ruby Emma Hotel in Amsterdam, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The hotel perfectly blends modern design, sustainability, and comfort, making it a fantastic choice for both business and leisure travelers.
The rooms are stylishly designed with a minimalist yet cozy aesthetic. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling windows provided stunning city views. I also appreciated the smart technology in the room, which made adjusting lighting and temperature effortless.
One of the standout aspects of Ruby Emma is its commitment to sustainability. The hotel uses eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems, which made my stay feel even more meaningful.
The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with recommendations around the city. The bar and lounge area had a great atmosphere, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is also convenient, with easy access to public transport, making it simple to reach the city center and main attractions.
Overall, I highly recommend Ruby Emma Hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam. It’s a stylish, comfortable, and eco-conscious hotel that truly enhances the travel experience. I will definitely be returning on my next trip!
The room is very clean. The hotel is in a good location, just next to the AMSTEL station, a 5-minute walk away. Many students live here and the atmosphere is relaxed. The breakfast and snacks are good. A very cost-effective choice.
The Treasure Hotel in Amsterdam, I searched for the recommendation on Xiaohongshu and found it after repeated comparisons. I don't like the old and noisy on both sides of the canal, and this hotel is near the tram and subway, in fact, it is very convenient to go everywhere. The room has an industrial style, is spacious and comfortable, and there are racks for drying clothes in the bathroom. As long as you can travel by yourself and understand a few words of English, there is no problem staying here.

Outstanding
SsohOne of the best stays I ever had. Very warm and beautifully decorated place. Camilla, the host made me the best breakfast, not exaggerated in my life. Thank you, big hug and love to Camilla for a very wonderful stay. Mark Soh
CclaborateThe reception was warm and the service was thoughtful. You will be seated first when checking in. Drinks and snacks will be prepared for you and then you can check in slowly. The breakfast was rich. I don't know if it was due to the translation or something else, but the basement written in Chinese on Ctrip was not the basement but the top floor. However, the parking fee for self-driving in Amsterdam is really explosive.
GGuest UserLocated in a park, very relaxing
The museum can also be reached by tram in 4 stations.
However, the room as a whole is not very efficient, and the shower and washbasin are cluttered, and it feels a little cramped.
DDuncan RossThe start of a friends European tour started exceptionally at Mercure City. The Hotel was clean and rooms were quiet. Just a little far out of city centre but train is within walking distance.
Overall a great experience for the price. Would recommend to others
XXiatianleI have stayed in this hotel many times. It is close to the train station and only one stop away from the central station in the city center. It has a unique old building with a sense of design. The rooms on the ground floor are the largest and get smaller as you go upstairs. The top floor is a spire loft, and Pillar. The dark-skinned young waitress at the front desk had a very bad attitude. Because I had stayed there many times, I specifically made a note when booking that I didn’t want a room on the top floor because I was tall and had a lot of big luggage, but she gave me one when I checked in. The room on the top floor is not accessible by elevator. You have to take the elevator to the third floor and then walk down the steep wooden stairs with two large suitcases. I asked to change rooms. I made a note of my request when booking. She said You can't change, and the requirements in the remarks may not be met. I said that I can wait until other rooms are cleaned before I change. She insisted that I can't change, you can only stay in this room, and her attitude was very rude. I was in a hurry to go out, so I had to put down my luggage and go out to do errands. After I came back, I went to the front desk to complain to the manager, saying that I was treated rudely and with hidden racial discrimination, which I found unacceptable. The tall male manager immediately apologized and moved us to a room on a lower floor. The other staff at the hotel are very friendly, especially the middle-aged female manager at the front desk and the tall general manager.
