Amigo Budget Hotel

Very bad service from part of the receptionists that answer whit arrogance and doesn't know how to work properly,crazy people screaming inside the room and homeless whit problem of alcool and smelly inside the room... I m very unsatisfied

Young women do not stay here!! It’s cheap yes but don’t go me ans my friend 20 and 21 stayed here and it was very uncomfortable we were on the top floor in a private room/attic and there was a man sitting on the stairs outside of our room all night and one night we came back and there was a different man passed out on the stairs up to the room not the communal stairs the only stairs that brings you to 501/502 there was no one in 502 our entire stay the bathrooms are terrible you can’t even move in it they’re dirty people don’t clean up after themselves and the town it’s in is dodgy at night also we got followed in the town and at the muidpoort station also not a very well lit area either also stairs are a nightmare it’s 100% vertical some staff are a bit creepy too but beds were actually pretty cosy but the fear of leaving the room was extreme and got up during the night to check the door was locked

I booked Amigo as it was just outside the city and I wanted some rest without city noise. The hostel was a stop away from centraal and a short 5 minute walk from the station and had some nice restaurants next to it. Unfortunately, there were no plugs next to or near my bed, so i had to sit in reception to charge my devices for a couple of hours. I had some disrespectful travelers in my room so I never got much sleep at all for the 2 nights. But that's not the hostels fault. I resorted to headphones and music to help me sleep. The stairs are really steep up to the hostel, I noticed most are like this.. Beware of vertigo. There was an en suite toilet with shower and a separate toilet just outside the room if it was occupied. There was a cheap kebab shop next door which I tried and it was very good.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Despite it being hot we had a great time. The beds were comfy (although quite small) and the showers and toilets were nice and clean. We made some lovely friends and some great memories. BEWARE the stairs to get up to the hostel are LETHAL!!!! They are the steepest I’ve ever climbed in my life, and a force to be reckoned with when under the influence (we watched multiple people fall down them) which provided some great entertainment. Overall we would stay there again!
