I had been wanting to stay at the Ambassade Hotel since our last trip to Amsterdam in 2023, when there was no availability. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. While the canal location is great, the staff are friendly and there is a nice library bar, the room was very disappointing. I would have expected a little more luxury out of a 4 star hotel, especially for the price. The biggest issue was that the bed was lumpy (missing springs in many places). We were given a room at the top of the property (steep spiral staircase to access) so was very small compared to the photo's on the website for the Deluxe Canal View Room.

My spouse and I enjoyed a wonderful 3 day stay at this lovely centrally located canal side hotel. Our room was large and gracious with a very comfortable bed, roomy sitting area, in-room coffee and tea service, and daily full breakfast, all very much appreciated. The staff was consistently cheerful, helpful, and genuinely helpful and kind. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Excellent location in the heart of the canal belt. Staff highly welcoming, attentive and helpful (thank you Lorraine). Hotel itself is charming, historic, has picturesque view of canal. Bar in Art & book collection area enhanced stay. Walkable to trams, restaurants, shopping and other sites. Room was extremely comfortable, clean and charming. Thank you to management staff for making my husband feel so special as we celebrated his 60th birthday. I highly recommend this amazing hotel.

The hotel is so well appointed and stylish. The location is unparalleled. The staff were just so lovely and helpful. They made recommendations that were quality but also very on point for us - like they were able to really notice the person in front of them and read who we were and suggest activities/providers/ restaurants that fit us so well!

We were on a family trip and the Ambassade was perfect. The rooms were comfortable (we stayed in rooms facing the back, which were very quiet). The common areas were inviting and the kids in our party enjoyed playing chess. We stopped in and had a beer or coffee almost every day. The art and book collections were interesting and enhanced the experience. The breakfast was excellent in terms of the buffet and the items one could order. The restaurant was also top quality. Finally, to a person the staff members were helpful and courteous. We will stay here again!

We had a wonderful stay in the Ambassade Hotel. It is luxurious but also has a personal and friendly atmosphere. Our room was fantastic, beautifully set up and very comfortable. All of the staff we met were excellent - efficient, attentive and friendly. We loved the art in the hotel (and learning about it) and enjoyed drinks and board games in the very well set-up bar (one of the best ‘Old Fashioned’’s that I have ever had) and we also had an excellent meal in Restaurant Ambassade. Breakfasts were also very good with lots of options. The hotel is very well situated and it is a great base for exploring the streets, museums and canals of Amsterdam. We would highly recommend the Ambassade and would definitely stay there again next time we come to Amsterdam.

Loved our stay at this Hotel. Even with the surrounding streets being torn up with construction, the location is excellent and quiet-with easy access to nearby tram stops, shopping, and restaurants. The facilities, staff, and services are impeccable.

Whoa! What a wonderful place. The whole neighborhood has a lovely, Dutch feel about it. Everywhere one looks are historic, beautiful structures. It was a fantastic room. Serene and boasting a beautiful vista of the canal beyond. The assistance we received from the personnel was prompt and reasonably priced. It is without a doubt the best hotel we have ever been at and comes highly recommended.

This hotel is in a great location. Our room faced the canal and was really lovely but a bit small. The bed was super comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and helped with whatever we needed. They have a nice bar area. I would highly recommend the Ambassade.
