Lastra Farm Hotel

We had to amend our travel plans for our ruby wedding anniversary, Lastra farm was a great alternative choice, set in a lovely rural area. Our room was clean, well appointed with a comfortable bed. The food at breakfast and dinner was plentiful and great quality. The friendly staff were very welcoming

My wife planned a party for my 70th birthday in collaboration with the wonderful staff at Lastra Farm. The whole thing was a fabulous success. From the moment we walked in to when we left everything went like clockwork. The food was excellent, plenty for all. Good selection of wine. There were a few surprises for me including Monuts from Melin Llynon, my good friend's band The Hot Stove 3 and family members I had no idea were coming. Your staff were absolutely fantastic. All the folk who stayed in the hotel remarked on how good the place is. Thank you for looking after them so well. I felt well birthdayed. I heartily recommend your wonderful hotel to all. It was a memorable night, thank you.

Great room ruined by smell of wet dog from previous occupants. Room was spotless, but no amount of cleaning would have got rid of that smell. Staff lovely. Restaurant closed because of lack of staff. We are now avoiding all pet friendly hotels.

We've been to lastra farm twice before and never had any complaints but on our third visit the problem was in the restaurant during breakfast on ordering our breakfast the waiter seemed to have a problem with me ordering a yoghurt and a small dish of fruit ,cornflakes, and one poached egg on toast his reply to this was that's rather alot of food in a busy restaurant where I could see many people eating a full English breakfast I chose not to reply as I was quite taken back I mean I was paying £16.50 for the breakfast, I didn't think it was unreasonable he brought me the yoghurt and fruit and placed the small box of cornflakes on the table, I ate the yoghurt and fruit he then came back to the table to clear our dishes and for some reason he quickly took the box of cornflakes away off he went back to the kitchen again I was taken back by his actions as he did it without even asking me if I still wanted them or not, well I would have eaten them if he hadn't taken them away, he then brought the poached egg and toast I chose not to make a scene again as the restaurant was busy, we had our evening meal in the restaurant the following evening I ordered the prawn cocktail which was a starter but I wanted it as my main meal with some new potatoes and that's all nothing else again the same waiter told me that the prawn cocktail was quite large did I still want the potatoes I said yes, he brought the prawn cocktail which was the size you would expect as a starter and some new potatoes again I couldn't understand his problem when there were people eating three course meals. All I can say is I've never been in a restaurant were the waiting staff have tried to put me off eating their food in fact it's always been the opposite.

The hotel room was lovely! Cosy, warm and spotless!! A lovely touch, was a mini bottle of fresh milk in the fridge to make an in room cuppa! The bed was so comfy- but breakfast -with lovely pillows too. Dinner was amazing- great fresh, local produce.and good service- but breakfast was fantastic!! Everything on the plate was so tasty and hot!-the perfect way, to start the day! Thank you everyone at this little gem - I look forward to returning soon!!

We stayed here for one night when visiting family. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and we were delighted with our comfortable room which was spotless and had lovely views of the countryside as well as 2 comfortable armchairs to watch tv. The breakfast was excellent - all local produce and the dinner in the restaurant was exceptional - every dish was beautifully presented and we managed to eat and enjoy 3 different courses each. The restaurant was very busy on Saturday night with lots of locals as well as overnight guests so we were glad wed pre-booked. What a find - we will definitely visit this small family run home and restaurant again. Highly recommend
