We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Trecastell Hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and good food for breakfast and dinner on both days. The views out to sea from the room was special too. All in all the hotel was comfortable but not luxurious. I would have no problem staying again.

We were gifted a Groupon Voucher for ‘Seaside Stay’ at the Trecastell with welcome drinks, overnight stay in double room with breakfast and a two course evening meal. The voucher was received in February 2025 and was valid until December 25 and clearly stated Summer months were included. I made the booking with the hotel in April and paid an extra £30 for a sea view. On arrival, there was no welcome drink. The room was pleasant with lovely views. We booked our table for dinner as per our expectations of our voucher. The main course was good, our sweet was a child’s portion of ice cream - not a sweet from the menu as we should have received. The atmosphere was tense. At breakfast the next day before leaving, I received an email from the manager, it was a bill of nearly £45. The manager rudely called out to my husband from reception “don’t forget to pay your bill before you leave “. On checking out with the key, I asked why I’d received a bill? The manager slammed the bill on the desk saying I owed this for the evening meal. I showed my Groupon voucher that clearly stated a two course evening meal was included and I had the evidence of emails between the hotel where I had enquired about the menu and confirmed the package of the included meal. There was no apology for his behaviour and mistake, he blamed another member of staff. He ruined what should have been a pleasant time and caused us upset. I would advise anyone with a voucher to confirm the contract with the hotel prior to their stay to avoid this unpleasantness.

Met up for a dinner with friends followed by the weekly quiz. I had white bait as a starter which was well prepared and presented for main. I had the haddock and chips with a portion of mushy peas, this was also well presented and tasty although the haddock was slightly overcooked And the batter over crispy. For dessert I had the crème brûlée which was a little disappointing overall however the food was good, well priced, and the service was friendly. The quiz was good fun, and overall it was an enjoyable evening.

Used to do good pub grub we would go to regularly. New menu looks great unfortunately the kitchen seems to be lacking the skills to execute it. Very disappointing all veg floppy & overcooked. Shredded iceberg 1 cherry tomato & a slice of cucumber is fine on a kebab but just doesn’t cut it on a goats cheese starter. There are too many great places to eat on the island to serve food at this standard. Hoping this is just a starting out glitch as all the staff looked completely miserable too. It was a shame as it’s a great place for a drink on a sunny day.

Well that was just a wonderful 3 night stay at The Trecastell Hotel. My fiance was unfortunately experiencing her late Father's 1st year anniversary and she needed to be distracted. And what a perfect distraction our stay was. Very comfortable bed, spacious room for just 2 of us and the bathroom looked brand new! We could not fault anything with the place, our breakfast was delicious and fresh, and we dined in the restaurant on night #2 and I must say, it really surprised me with the quality and portion sizes. Working in the hospitality sector myself, I tend to judge a place on its people and the entire team from top to bottom were excellent hosts. A special mention to Ryan, Alex and the wonderfully cheerful Ange. Keep doing what you're doing guys! We will be back!!!

Fisrtly the good ,bathroom was well appointed (although water pressure very low in shower) Views from room and front of hotel very nice. Staff friendly and helpful. Apart from the manager who as hos his title states is there to manage, he had poor customer service skills, we had an issue due to poor communication from the hotel and our misunderstanding of the deal(Groupon) we were informed on arrival we needed to pay £30 extra which should have been communicated by the hotel as well as groupon the hotel failed to get any mails to us for some reason. We then mistakenly complained to the manager who was not helpful at all stating that he did not know we were even in the hotel. We came for breakfast and it was obvious we were not expected as the room had been cleared we then after the managers response decided not to eat at the hotel. Groupon informed us the manager had told them the hotel was fully booked and we were no shows? The breakfast on the second day was good. But unfortunately our stay was spoiled by our experience on the first day. The bedroom was very dated as where the public spaces although clean where showing their age. I would not stay here again as you get what you pay for this is 2.5 star Hotel in my opinion. Although we travel regularly (staying Uk and abroad minimum of 7 to 8 times a year) this is the first time I have felt I should give a negative review.

Management made error had not booked our dates and did not respond to third party booking or numerous communications from them on error hence we lost break and money as voucher had been redeemed hotels mistake On direct communication they were rude and unhelpful, would not advise anyone to choose and get written confirmation if you do.
