This was a beautiful hotel very clean and a lovely garden. Had amazing staff very friendly and happy. Bonus of a dnb night which was a blast

Not a great place to stay not informed when booked hotel was closed for a wedding reception we was told we could use the bar but we just wanted a quiet relaxed night away.. had last min in arriving to out dinner reservations else where 10 min.. so didnt take much notice of room.. after dinner we went back to hotel sign on door closed due to public function.. but we went to the bar and were hounded by drunk wedding guests.. upon trying to sleep window open this heat room smelt cigarette smoke.. the fan i could breath harder than it as well it broke the front come of .. well next morning after listening to the disco and the guest outside talking woke up to omg... so much being refurbished I don't think room 14 has.. or even seen a cleaner in decades.. we have tried to email the hotel as no kne qas about next morning when dropped key of .. and email bounces back. No FB way to contact.. well let the photos say the rest loo roll hanging out drilled holes in wall bed broken.. cobwebs and hairs .dirty pillows..groute missing out tiles in bathroom sit on toilet seat and could ended up in bath was broken ..shower screen brok mould in room and on furniture. Had keep moving in bathroom keep light on.. mirror miles away any plugs..no hair dryer in room.. tv channels all fuzzy.. urine splat stains all up wall i will be contacting to hotel for refund

This place should not be allowed to accept paying guests. The rooms are in need of a really good clean, the beds were sagging and unsupportive, electrical wires hanging loose, TV aerial lead hanging out the window meant you can't fully close the window, shower head held on with plastic tie, disgusting state of shower with black mould , shower drain blocked with hair, loose shaver socket, shower/toilet room couldn't be locked, ceiling light in toilet/shower switching itself on and off every few seconds, shaver socket loose. I emailed the hotel to ask what improvements are planned, but they failed to respond. See pictures and judge for yourself. The hotel has potential, the lovely old building has seen better days and needs a lot of work to bring it up to an acceptable standard.

Fawlty towers really exist! It was once great, but now it is worthless, personel in training trousers, with no decent clothing and smoking on the terrace, room was messy, garden with fountain that is sad to see. Need a totale refurbushment to be acceptabel again. It was so bad that in the end it was hillarious.

Stayed the night, In house music was so loud we could not sleep, rang reception to complain and nothing done, finished at 12pm. Never again.

Stayed here one night. Would never go back! It must have been a good place many years ago but right now, sorry but its terrible now. Clearly there are attempts made to make it habitable but thats about it . Breakfast was dreadful. The price way too high for this level

Nothing special
This was disappointing. Nothing special about this hotel. It was not clean. The staff was not helpful. We ate at Chippy's nearby and that staff gave us recommendations for our time in that area. Changed our trip in the best way.
