I was staying at this hotel on the evening of June 29th, 2025. I had come to Ames to attend a Frankie Valli concert at Cy Stephens and had driven all day from Denver. I got to the location and checked in around 4:00 p.m. rest a little while and then Was preparing to get ready to go to the concert by 6:30 p.m. upon preparing to take a shower the shower was totally broken the water flow didn't work right Cold versus hot and the valve where you transfer the water up to the shower head was totally broken. I contacted the front desk and a person told me they can move me to another room I told them that wasn't acceptable because I had already moved into the room I was under a tight schedule to get to the concert. I ended up having to get wiped off in the sink I wasn't able to wash my hair at all. The appearance of the room looking proper when I checked in but I couldn't figure out what it was. When I return from the concert I looked at previous pictures I had taken of the room and I noticed the easy chair normally in the corner of the room was missing I noticed one of the lights on the nightstand by the bed was missing from the room. The hot tub was broken the dryer in the laundry room was broken so I couldn't wash laundry the ice machine on the ground level had been broken for about 6 weeks and had not been repaired. I talked to the front desk a second time after the concert and asked when the general manager would be in and I was told the next morning around 9:00 and I told him to please put a note on the file that I wanted to discuss the condition and the unacceptability of my room with her. Next morning I went up to the front desk has to talk to the general manager was told by the front desk associate that the manager was in a staff meeting and I couldn't talk to her I said I wanted to talk to her regarding the condition of my room as being unacceptable and wanted to get either a total refund or a partial credit before I left the hotel. Front desk Associates said I couldn't talk to her I need either have to wait or contact her later. By that time I was getting very irritated so I raised my voice a little bit and finally the general manager came out from her office I told her the situation regarding that and she said she wasn't going to do anything about it. Then as I would expect instead of the :-) she started making excuses and pointing fingers at me and told me my previous days I had been nothing but rude to her Associates which was totally a lie and unfounded because I previously stayed there as long as a month at a time with no indication of any problems whatsoever. I asked for the phone number the contact the general manager supervisor and also a contact number to contact the Marriott Hotel Corporate Offices. Both were refused. And then ask for my receipt for that night and the general manager told me I wasn't welcome to come back to the hotel. I was just a little disappointed that the phone in my room didn't work, and I couldn't get any shampoo out of the dispenser.
