This Greene King pub is nearly 500 years old. If you stay don’t expect everything to be perfect and pristine The room was adequate and the breakfast was great The pub itself has a good atmosphere. It is a pub with rooms not a hotel The staff are friendly and pleasant Location was perfect for us Also, a big plus is that they accept cash

The stay was great .bathroom tile need a grouting and clean but the room was cosy and clean.breakfast was excellent served by a very polite and efficient man.food was very hot and cooked to perfection. Most interestingly was the man didn't use a ipad or notepad, he remembered everything everyone wanted without asking twice, there's a novelty.thank you.

I stayed 1 night with a friend. We were in room 12 which had a door on to to street and looked like a little cottage with a pretty window box. Inside was cosy with everything we needed it was traditional style and a little tired. The bathroom could do with a refurb but the shower was excellent with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was adequate with basic cereals and juice with a tasty full English. The price was fair I think. The location was good for local restaurants

Disappointed with the room, we stayed in room No 8 there was mould on the bathroom ceiling, mould on the outside base of the shower, the sink had no plug and the water only trickled out of the tap. When you opened the vanity unit the pipes were black In the room the window would not close, which we notified the receptionist, but nothing was done , on top of the four poster bed there was thick dust , it was the same with the wardrobe. There was no mattress protector , the mattress itself was 4” away from the headboard , there were cobwebs in the corner s of the room Overall we would not stop there again

Disgusting Awful experience. This was the worse place we have ever stayed. Rude staff. Mould and damp in the room. It was freezing. Said they would put the heat on until 1am and we got in at 11.30pm and it wasn’t on. They also said it would be on in the morning at 6am but it wasn’t on at 7am. Dirty all over. I have no words.

Shabby, but not chic!! AVOID. The room was absolutely freezing and the heating went off at midnight. Not acceptable for December with a thin duvet an no blankets. The fixtures and fittings are tired, broken. The cups in the room had dirty water in them when we arrived. The bathroom tiles had mould and the whole room smelt mouldy . I opened the wardrobe door and the mirror on the front of it literally fell off and hit me. I noted the other wardrobe door had already been boarded up, so clearly the other mirror had already fallen out. At breakfast we were told by the chef that only two breakfasts could be cooked at one time as he only had a small pan and it was full English or nothing. People were sat waiting - for ages - ridiculous. The bar staff in the evening had a debate and checked all the half empty crusty bottles on a rickety old shelf as they’d never heard of amaretto. The limited parking advertised on the website means driving up and down the road to find a non resident parking place - which there wasn’t.

Stayed in room 8. There was black mould on the on the ceiling , mould on the bottom shower trim, no plug in the bathroom, the water from the tap only tricked.. There was cobwebs in the room , the window didn't close. There was thick dust on the top of the wardrobe and on the top of the 4 poster bed, only one side lamp was plugged into an electrical socket, there was no mattress protector and the mattress was 4 inches from the headboard.i was not given the wi fi password so I couldn't use their internet. The best thing was the breakfast
