The Canal Inn

We stayed one night at this lovely Pub with rooms. On arrival we were greeted and shown to our room by a friendly member of staff. The room was well decorated, clean with a comfortable bed and modern en suite. We had dinner which was fantastic and the staff were wonderful. We would definitely recommend the Canal Inn.

Place was trendy , different and looked like a traditional pub! Very clean and welcoming , what I didn’t like is I’m a chef and I love to go out after week at work and I paid 87 for 3 of us to have to fetch my own cutlery , napkins ect which I didn’t like . Also to eat my Sunday dinner outside which it went cold in seconds after asking to sit inside I was told they were reserved .yet the whole 1.5 hours I was there the tables were empty so I’d suggest a different system. Also couldn’t have my starter as a starter due to being outside and being told they won’t know were I am ? There is not that many tables outside .. I found that a silly excuse . I’d give this place a 3/5 the food was nice - but little things as stated I didn’t like .

Staff were great

Really enjoyed our stay here, the rooms were of a very good standard, clean and very comfortable and plenty of space, a nice modern room in a very old pub. The pub was busy but we managed to have a little family get together one night. A great place as a base for the Peak District Friendly and helpful staff nothing was a problem, the breakfast that was included was delicious
