Hyatt Place Amarillo West

Traveling with my dog and decided to stay here. Very nice property, but there was a $75 pet cleaning fee. I doubt I will stay here again.

The hotel is perfect. They offer a shuttle that takes you into the plaza which is fantastic so you don't have to drive and look for a parking spot in the area. We were 100% satisfied with everything. We really enjoyed talking to the driver Carlos that took us into the plaza. Very warm and friendly gentleman.

The staff wasn't helpful at all. I asked a question when I first checked in, and the woman said she had never had someone ask that and I would have to ask a manager. She said it in a condescending way and you could tell she had no intention of helping. I tried to contact April, who I believe is the general manager, and never heard a response. Still waiting for some response. The room was nice and the workout gym was great. I had the opportunity to use the Peloton, which is a lot of fun. Beware of breakfast. As a recent change (in the last couple months), this Hyatt Place is now charging $8 per person for breakfast, if you are not Discoverist level or above. So "free breakfast" needs to be updated. It is definitely a way to separate people and make people feel like there is elitist attitude. Half the people staying there are enjoying sitting at tables/breakfast. The other half can't even sit at a table because everything is roped off. I did reach Discoverist level (on track for Explorist or above this year) and I was still not given free breakfast for this trip. (see my comment above about the lack of customer service).
