The family-run Panorama Hotel Traunstein offers modern rooms, each with a private balcony. Within a 10-minute walk, guests can reach the center of Altmünster and Lake Traun, which offers waterskiing, beach volleyball, miniature golf, and a large adventure trail.
Every morning we prepare a rich breakfast buffet for you with wholemeal and natural products, a selection of sausages and cheeses as well as bread and pastries from the region.
The rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and cable TV. They are all decorated in bright colors and materials.
Direct lake access is only a few minutes' walk away. The local outdoor pool in Altmünster offers a swimming pool as well as lake access and is chargeable.
Popular sights in the surrounding area include Orth Castle, which is beautifully located in a lake and only a 20-minute walk away. You can rent e-bikes directly at our reception - we kindly ask you to book in advance. In winter, the ski bus stops directly in front of the house and takes you to the Feuerkogel skiing area in 20 minutes.

Wir fahren schon seit Jahren zu Herrn Christian & Aleksandra Pumberger ins Panoramahotel Traunstein. Das ganze Team ist Perfekt , sehr freundlich und um jeden Gast bemüht. Die Hotelzimmer sehr gepflegt sowie die ganze Hotelanlge ! Man fühlt sich hier zu Hause und willkommen, einfach toll . Wir freuen uns schon auf den nächsten Besuch, Manuela und Karl!

Fahrradtour Salzkammergut, Hotel wurde vom Veranstalter gebucht. Sehr „zurückhaltender“ Empfang mit Essenempfehlung für den Abend. 3 Gänge Menü- Katastrophe ( nur die Bedienung war sehr freundlich). Zimmer: dunkel, sehr klein, zum WC musste man sich am Waschbecken vorbei zwängen. Toilettenpapierhalter nur als Schlangenmensch zu erreichen! Ne, lieber Hoteleigentümer, ich bin kein Freund von Bewertungen im Internet, aber das war wirklich nichts.

We stayed here for four nights. We had a lovely room overlooking the lake and mountains and with all the snow it was beautiful! We stayed half board. The food was traditional and delicious. The service was great, with special recognition to Christian, who was so hospitable and helpful! The hotel would benefit from a lounge area, however the unused part of the restaurant acted as this. Overall, a lovely cosy stay!

Das Zimmer war eine Zumutung. Wir hatten eine Fahrrad Tour gemacht und mussten eine Nacht im Hotel verbringen. Das Zimmer (Nr. 036) liegt unmittelbar an der Rezeption im Erdgeschoss. Aus dem Fenster konnten wir nur die parkenden Auto direkt vor dem Fenster sehen (wir konnten ohne Probleme das Auto direkt vor unserem Fenster anfassen). Alle ankommenden Gäste haben wir im geschlossenen Zimmer deutlich gehört. Auch die Raucher, die direkt vor unserem Fenster geraucht haben waren sehr unangenehm. Ausserdem konnte man von außen in unser Zimmer sehen. Unsere Beschwerde am Abreise Tag wurde erstaunt zur Kenntnis genommen. Jedoch wurde im Gespräch klar, dass wir nicht die ersten waren, die sich beschwert haben. Da das Hotelmanagement nach wie vor das Zimmer vermietet, rate ich von einem Aufenthalt ab. Von Panorama kann keine Rede sein.

Recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with leger Austrian lakes winter wonderland. Would like exactly to thank the owner and all his staff for a wonderful stay with them . My room was lovely as was the hotel and food was lovely definitely be going back again

We stayed at the Panorama Hotel Traunstein fro 4 nights from 18th January 2023 travelling on a Leger holiday to the Austrian Lakes. The family owned and run hotel met all our expectations - very comfortable clean rooms with excellent en-suite facilities. All the staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient. Although catering for a group of 27 people they provided good meals with a local flavour including continental breakfasts and 3 course evening dinners. We would definitely recommend this hotel to tourists in this part of Austria and would happily book to stay there again if travelling independently

Lovely hotel good size rooms warm and cosy good food with friendly staff . Room was with a balcony so good views .breakfast buffet style so help yourself there is a place to sit down stairs in the bar and is in walking distance of the town excellent stay 😀

Just stayed at this hotel over Christmas on a Leger coach tour. The rooms are clean and spacious and the food was quite nice, despite there being a very limited choice of menu. Buffet breakfast with boiled and scrambled eggs. The hotel is situated up a steep hill and there are no other bars, restaurants or shops within walking range, that is if they were open, as it was very quiet being Christmas. My main concern was that there was no lounge or bar area at the hotel and as soon as dinner was finished around 8.30 pm everything closed down. Most guests went to their rooms. I would not recommend this hotel, other than a base for sightseeing and definitely not for celebrating Christmas with friends. I would also seriously question why Leger would send a coach party to a hotel like this over Christmas .
