Here is just for winter ski, not good in summer. It is on the peak of a mountain so there is nothing around here. It's too far from Teton national park so that it takes one and half hour. Do not believe the distance on the *******. It is just the straight distance between this lodge and Teton national park on the map. In fact, you gotta drive long way to get there.

**HORRIBLE** **VETERANS BEWARE!** I booked a room about a month out for a family vacation as part of a several day trip through Yellowstone and Grand Teton Parks. Sadly, my only aunt on my mother’s side passed away suddenly in Oregon about a week before the trip. I had booked all rooms/locations through *******. I had also booked two other rooms on different nights in other locations. So, obviously with the funeral the same week as the trip, I had to cancel. The other two hotels fully understood and refunded the money, as would be expected for a family emergency, without even hesitating and giving condolences in the process. This hotel absolutely refused. Matter of fact, first they (a manager named “Charles F.”) said that I needed to have ******* approve refund, when I was already speaking with an ******* agent who was stating the hotel had to approve the refund. So that was a lie. Then, ******* agent referred me back to the hotel for the refund, so I contacted them again, and they changed their tune and said that they wouldn’t refund based on the cancellation policy. Even though circumstances were out of our control with a death in the family. It’s sickening, and I inquired if there was a veteran exemption as I was a retired combat veteran and Army Officer. They never answered back after that. So, they lied about the refund, then they refused to refund. But then, even more disgustingly - they re-booked the room after keeping my money, so they could double profit!! There was plenty of notice for my cancellation - and it was during peak summer tourist season, so they would have re-booked the room anyway, but because this hotel was so greedy, they kept my money and made more off a double booking! Avoid this location at all costs! If they can do this scam to a veteran and his family dealing with a crisis with booking and refusing a refund, just think of how you will be treated! HORRIBLE CONDUCT!

The good part is that the staff was extremely nice and friendly. The bed was a full however we paid for a queen. The TV had a permanent black line in the center of it. As though someone threw something at the television. The heat didn’t work and it was cold there. The base of the toilet was loose. The shower temperature fluctuated from hot to cold. Now for the kicker! We went to the restaurant on there property. We ordered some wings for appetizers. Our Entree’s took forever to come out and when they did my dish was burnt and my husband had flavorless dry spaghetti. I reordered my fries. We paid $75!

Good rates for on mountain resort accommodations. Rooms dated but comfortable. A little noisy in the early morning with traffic from the hill groomers returning to their base and plows. Convenient to the chair lifts and Nordic trails.

Loved our stay at Targhee! The Sioux Lodge is a great location and the beds were comfortable. No sink in the kitchen area so with four of us it was "crowded" but we were there to ski not hang in the room. Upper bunk is very squeaky!!

We have been skiing at Grand Targhee for over 25 years, with annual trips, usually in January. Nearly all stays have been in the Sioux Lodge. Sometimes on the top level with a Loft level+Murphy bed and full bath, sometimes on the ground level with a bunk room/queen bed room lower level and Murphy bed on main level with one full and one half-bath. They have remodeled somewhat over the years. Originally, all had a fireplace and mini-kitchen facility. Now all fireplaces are gone, and only the ground floor units actually have anything resembling a kitchen. The other rooms have a mini-fridge and coffee maker and toaster, but NO sink. (We have planned ahead, and done dishes in the bathtub) Practically forces one to dine out for nearly all meals (which may be their objective, who knows) The rooms are adequate, and we’ve always had a good time, but rooms could use an upgrade. The dining table in the ground floor unit is one of those tall, square, cabaret style heights, which is less useful for family size gatherings with small kids. Have never been during summer months, and there is no AC in Sioux Lodge, although at an elevation of 8000 ft, it’s rarely all that warm.
