For the amount of money you’ll spend on a cabin perhaps you think you will be getting bespoke service in a peaceful setting. But you’d be wrong. The cabins are very close to highway 88 — as in 100 yards or less. I specifically requested a cabin back from the highway, and it’s true that Silvertip sits about as far back as you can get from it. But it’s still close enough that you can hear every car going by, even with the windows closed. Speaking of which…every window in this cabin is nailed shut, except for the tiny window above the bathroom and above the kitchen sink. So, very little airflow and it was a bit too warm to sleep comfortably. Finally, the place is woefully understaffed for the number of guests. The parking lot is completely full, but there is one waiter working both the inside and outside tables at dinner, and one front desk staff person. So, tonight when I realized after a long and sweaty hike that our cabin’s shower had two conditioners and one body wash, but no shampoo, I was unable to find anyone around to fix the situation. I waited at the front desk for 20 minutes and no one showed up.

The campground is beautiful and the facilities are spotless. We loved the bridge picnic area and the quaking aspens are a relaxing backdrop to enjoyvwith a glass of wine. The staff members are really helpful and cheerful. The area is close to alot of hiking and fishing and we did 2 great hikes that were less than 15 minutes away. We didn't want to leave.
