La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Atlanta Alpharetta

Overall nice. Slight bug problem. I’ve seen roaches in the bathroom sink. Smell **** in the parking lot a few times.

Everything was as expected except for the bed which wasn’t so comfortable. I wouldn’t mind staying again. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The breakfast was good. The staff were very friendly and nice.

First off, I do not appreciate getting to the front desk to check in and be told that I will have a $175 deposit that will be due, along with the $145 for the one night stay. When I booked the room with LA Quinta's reservation line, I was not notified of the additional deposit charge. And what made it worse was with the policy, which stated, that if reservation was not cancelled prior to, I believe 6 pm, I would be charged for one nights stay. Guess what, I did not arrive to the hotel until after 6pm and was not notified of the deposit until then. Which meant that I was going to be charged for the room either way. Also there were NO lights at the pool after dark. You could not see anything and everyone was having to use cell phone flash lights to get around. That was a huge safety issue. The elevator was extremely slow and there was only one. You had to stand and wait forever, we waited for almost 5 minutes for the elevator. Also the posted inspection cert in the elevator was expired for going on one year. The ice machines that were in the hallways, only one worked out, of the 3-4. The room was ok. My wife opened the closet door and was not able to get it closed back due to the screws that go into the door jam had fallen out because they were stripped. The furniture had chew marks from a previous pet, which we did not have. Otherwise the room was ok. As for the breakfast, it was the worst hotel breakfast we have ever been offered. The sausage had a very odd look and color. It also smelled awful. My wife took one bite of it and spit it out. She also got sick about 30 minutes later with nausea and vomiting. No one really ate anything. I don't think I will ever stay at that particular La Quinta again and will not recommend anyone staying there.
