Holly Lodge

Parking space was ample and assigned which we liked. George is a great host and very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Room and bed was spacious and bathroom clean and nice. Enjoyed our stay! If ever back in Alnwick we will stay there again.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Holly Lodge. Our room was spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was well equipped with an excellent shower. Holly Lodge is well situated for exploring Alnwick by foot. George, Jackie and their staff were very good hosts. We would definitely stay again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

I have stayed at Holly Lodge on a couple of occasions in recent months just for a well-deserved break. The staff greet you with a warm and friendly attitude and Jackie & George will do anything you need (within reason) to make sure you have a fantastic stay. The Rooms are spotless, and the facilities are well maintained, the Lodge’s cleanliness surpassed my expectations. The beds are exceptionally comfortable. The choice of breakfast is amazing with the food sourced locally and home made by Jackie herself and they are deliciously scrumptious, she is the hostess with the mostest !! Alnwick itself is a lovely town with a Castle, well worth the visit. You can choose from country rambles and lovely seaside walks within short distances. Provided by the Lodge are leaflets of “Local facilities”, Where to Go & What to Do. This is a wonderful place for a short break or longer if you want to chill, relax and take in the countryside and shorelines. Thank you, Jackie & George you are wonderful hosts. I will be back

This is the tenth time we have been to stay at Holly Lodge and we come back year after year because the experience simply amazing. George and Jackie are the best hosts in Alnwick and you will not find better accommodation within easy walking distance for all attractions plus evening restaurants. There is personalised parking for when you arrive and what's more is the award winning breakfast. It's a 10 out of 10 for us and will return again soon

Excellent stay at Holly Lodge. Lovely large room, very clean with comfortable king size bed. Good size bathroom, also very clean. Owners very friendly & helpful. Cooked breakfast was excellent, and good choice on menu for other options. Near to town centre, couple of minutes walk to pubs/restaurants. Secure on site parking too. Would definitely return & recommend to friends. Enjoyed watching the hens/cockerel from our window.

It's disconcerting to be advised by a passer by when you arrive that the owners are probably in the pub. It's even more disconcerting when you eventually come face to face with her that her first words are "You need to move that car." Not, you'll note "hello" or anything like a welcoming expression. The next time we saw her was at breakfast on our final day when we mentioned that there was no heating, even for the towel rail. Her response was that the heating was controlled from their house. Really? Even the towel rail? The house and fittings are really good, the bed comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the service by the local ladies brought in for the job is first class. Though be warned that the same ladies are cleaning your room while you eat your bacon and egg so don't chew too quickly! In any other circumstances we would return but the lack of genuine hospitality from the lady in charge means we won't.
