I'm so glad we gave this pub a try what lovely food they serve really good menu the quality of the food is good large portions and to top it off they do Gluten free that's brilliant news the service is really good we love this place have just booked for Christmas eve 😀

Thought we'd try this for lunch. It was ok, nothing special, end of service? We got a nice welcome from the server, very friendly. Soup was ok and the halloumi open sandwich was fine. Not sure if we'll return, although they did offer a three course lunch for OAPs for £10.

We visited for one night. The town is lovely. Lots of pubs, cafes and castles around. Booking was easy. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. Good service. The room was large and clean. The shower was good and the room had everything we needed. The main problem was that we were cold. The heating wasn’t on in our room and we couldn’t get it warmer.

Room was lovely, clean and warm, comfortable beds and nice powerful shower. Breakfast was really nice too. Buffet select available too as well as off the menu. Had evening meal there too which was also really nice. Friendly service too! Thanks

Good parking. Very comfortable room in courtyard. Clean and well appointed. Food was excellent especially in the evening. Much nicer option for an overnight stop than one of the hotel chains beside the A1 - only a short drive away. Would stay again for a longer break ideally. Checkout at 10am a bit disappointing as like to relax for a while after breakfast normally.

Fabulous lunch here with my daughter. I went just before Christmas with my niece and we had an amazing lunch then too. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the staff are fantastic and literally can’t do enough for you. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food, what more could you wish for? I am returning with my husband for the pensioner special and really looking forward to it!

My boyfriend and I cannot fault this place. When we arrived with my lurcher we were excited that we had been given room 22 as someone on here had already said how fab the room was!! It was a large room, very clean and well presented. The bed was huge! And it has a walk in shower which was double headed. Evening meal and breakfast was impressive!! The staff were pretty awesome too!

Just returned from The Oaks Hotel. The welcome on arrival was smooth, we were shown to a large, immaculately clean, comfortable double room with a very comfortable bed. The bar staff were all friendly, nothing was a bother. We enjoyed our evening meals and both had superb breakfasts, We were lucky enough to meet some lovely friendly locals and enjoyed the banter and their quiz night. The hotel is a bit of a walk into town but it’s not arduous and easily manageable. We would definitely return and would certainly recommend.
