Tate House

A perfect place to stay in beautiful Alnwick. Small but perfectly formed, room 1 was ideal for a couple of nights. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed and pillows and very thoughtful extras to ensure guests comfort. Also a well appointed lounge for residents’ use. A great place to return to after exploring the delights of the beautiful North East. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep for evening refreshments and Barter Books just up the road for an excellent breakfast. We loved it!

Centrally located in Alnwick with free parking at a nearby pub Tate House makes a very good first impression. It's modern and smart and it's cleaned to a sparkle. There's everything that you could need for your stay within your room and some chocolates to go with your cuppa too. Faultless and excellent value, I can highly recommend Tate House to you.

Luxurious. Well stocked hospitality tray fresh milk in kitchen nice & warm useful to dry boot/coat. Double bed bit hard our feet over-shot top of protruding wooden bed frame. We could only find parking on a residential street away from Tate House.

It's in a great location, complimentary car parking over the road at The Plough and easy access to the property. We stayed in Room 2 and it was nice and decorated to a high standard, it has its own en-suite and kettle with teas and coffees and the room was cleaned every morning. Reason we are giving it a 3 is mainly due to the lack of sleep we got, which is a shame :( The bed for us wasn't quite to our liking, mattress was a bit hard and the pillows were too hard for us. Secondly you can hear the road which can get loud at times but the most annoying thing for us was you could hear the people in Room 3 talking, going up and down the stairs, using their bathroom and generally stomping around the room. There were 3 different groups of people above us during our stay and all of them we could hear them stomping around often till middnight which wasnt great if you wanted an early night, so room 2 is not soundproofed as advertised, so overall we just didn't sleep well our whole stay, which is a shame. Anyone booking I'd suggest booking room 1 as away from road, no one above you and you have an ensuite. I would stay here again but only if there were softer pillows and I had booked room 1 as overall location of property was great.

Very tastefully decorated room (room 2) with king size bed. Did not use the sitting room downstairs. No street parking but used the parking at the rear of the Plough. We have stayed previously at the Bondgate Boutique across the road so kind of new what to expect. Would stay in either if in the area again. Great base for exploring the area. Reasonably priced also.

I booked Standard Room 1 which is described as a small room. This did make me worry a little but I needn’t have. The room was spotless, the bed was so comfortable I slept like a log but what really made it extra special was the little touches - a choice of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and water and sweet treats. The bathroom had lovely toiletries. We had a fabulous time in Alnwick made even more special by our stay at Tate House which is close by to all the visitor attractions. Thank You Leo and Charlotte.
