Absolutely perfect location for a break in the A1 journey - seconds off the motorway. The room was spacious & clean & bed comfortable. Sound-proofing was excellent. Fast electric charger next door. Meal and breakfast nothing special but nothing terrible either

We spent four nights here and it was a mixed bag unfortunately. The atmosphere in the restaurant was nice and most staff were helpful. However, the room was dirty - dusty and sticky furniture which I ended up cleaning myself because four days was too long to put up with it. On one of the days, the room wasn’t serviced. We got back from a long day out and I mentioned this to the staff. They accused me of leaving the “do not clean” sign on the door to try to get a free drink, which I definitely had not. I explained that we didn’t want a fuss but we were out of coffee, milk, toilet roll etc. The member of staff then told me to fill up the supplies myself, gave me a bag of supplies and walked away. So not only had they missed the cleaning, but they expected me to walk upstairs to the room to fill up the missing items. We aren’t the type to complain so I didn’t bother, but in hindsight, they should have at least offered us a free drink in light of the fact that they hadn’t cleaned the room. Also, unfortunately, we were in room 111, which was directly next to the A1. It was unbearably loud due to the traffic. My husband woke up every time a car went past at speed. We couldn’t have the window open, which in August was not ideal. Ultimately I was disappointed in light of how much we paid for this trip. The staff could have done more to look after customers who had paid a lot to stay for a long period of time.
