The good
Comfy bed, good shower, nice receptionist, nice fleecy blanket (which was needed, see below)
The bad
The coldest hotel room I have ever stayed in (Room 7), and I like a cool bedroom. Although check in is from 14:00hrs, the heating doesn’t come on until 16:00 hrs (I went down and asked). It also seemed to go off at about 23:00hrs, as it was so cold by 00:30hrs that it woke me up. I then discovered aforementioned fleecy blanket, which ,if I wore a t-shirt under my PJs ,made it just about bearable whilst in bed. Dressing the next morning after my rather good shower was a miserable experience as the heating was only on for a short time in the morning, even though check out is 11:00hrs. The public bar ewas lovely and warm, so I can only assume that this is parsimony on the part of the owners.
The ugly
One of the reasons that the room was so cold was probably because the wardrobe was right in front of the radiator. As the room had a sloped ceiling on two sides, it would make more sense to have a hanging rail instead.
The room smelt faintly but definitely of damp/mould, coming, I think from the bathroom.
The bathroom had a huge crack in the ceiling.
