La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Pittsburgh Airport

One of the best Wyndham hotels at the Pittsburgh airport. The rooms were clean, breakfast was good, beds were comfortable. The location is a bit further away from Robinson Shopping Center and the hotels around there but other than that it was a good spot to stay.

I always start a review with the positives. I also don't like to be part of the problem but part of the solution and try to always offer helpful suggestions if I make a valid complaint. That said... The room at the Holiday Inn PIT Airport was PRETTY clean. I saw dark, long hairs on the bathroom floor (my hair is short and blonde,) and in the tub which led me to think the bathroom wasn't clean. However, the toilet and sink were seemingly wiped down and plenty of towels were accessible. The beds are comfy, the rooms are large, and we appreciate the outdoor pool in the warmer months. My husband and I stay here quite often, as many as 4 times a year or more, often with a multi-night stay, and we enjoy using the pool. The location for us is convenient to restaurants, shopping and the airport. Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport in general meets our needs. The breakfast is very good. Lots of a variety of hot foods and coffee. The waitstaff is always helpful in bringing out supplies, refilling coffee, hot food, a ”to go” bag if needed, etc. That all said, there is this very heavy set MEAN blonde lady with glasses that makes us cower and cringe each time we enter the hotel. We DON'T want to ask her for anything as she ALWAYS makes us feel like we are BOTHERING her. She seems to work the day shift, from early morning til 3 p.m. or so, as we have noticed and we try to make my requests and ask questions AFTER she is gone for the day. How ridiculous is this?!! Case in point: During one particular stay, I asked for more bars of soap for our room. I prefer bar soap. I shouldn't have to feel ”sheepish” about asking. They are mini and not full-sized bars of soap. We usually stay an average of 3 nights when we come to town and the hubs and i prefer bar soap to the bodywash and need more than one teensy bar for the two of us between the shower and sink for 3 days of usage. Get this one....She told us to use the bodywash in the containers on the shower wall and asked us if we had checked to see if the container of body wash was full!!!?? She seems to like to provoke an ARGUMENT! Then she preceded to tell us how she was instructed to hand out the minimum as in the case of the soap. I was thinking: ” Lady, please just open the drawer behind you and give us the dang soap!!” It's NOT a difficult request. I'm thinking: What happened to the old adage, ”The customer is always right?” The staff certainly should not ARGUE with the customer. A hotel front desk clerk works in the hospitality business and should provide the customer with ”hassle free” service. NOT! We don't ask for much. We don't ask for the room to be serviced with fresh towels, etc. during our usual 2 to 3 night stay. Was asking for mini bars of soap too difficult of a request? Today in our hotel room, I went to wash my hands after leftovers from an early lunch (around 11:00 a.m.,) to find that there was NO WATER. It had obviously been shut off. Why? We called the front desk to find out what happene

Using the Park and Fly option, we spent the night here after returning from trip to Ireland. Picked up promptly by personable Globe shuttle driver. Check in was easy and desk staff friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and has obviously undergone recent upgrading: everything was clean and comfortable. Appreciate the trend to have tiled floors rather than carpet and also the shampoo/condition/shower gel dispensers rather than the little bottles. USB ports and plenty of outlets. Coffee/tea, micro fridge, responsive AC, light block drapes. Good quality bed linens and towels (four sets). Lobby and hall areas clean, well-lighted. Breakfast included waffles, little cinnamon rolls, good bagels, yogurt, hot/cold cereals, juices - all the basics. Value for what we received was very good. It'll be where we stay next trip out.

As we checked out of Marriott Pittsburgh City Center (Our Con Hotel for Anthrocon 2024) on Monday July 8th before going to The Flight 93 National Memorial, we knew we were gonna be 80 miles away in Shanksville for most of the day. We called this hotel to let them know we would check in late Monday evening, using Bonvoy Redemption and we were guaranteed. After coming back from Flt. 93 National Memorial (A MUST VISIT), I bought last minute gifts in Pittsburgh alongside my Anthrocon roomie and friend Bob, who was visiting from Boston - we then met a couple local furry friends and had a final dinner at Haufbrauhaus Restaurant Pittsburgh before saying goodbye to the amazing city of Pittsburgh after a week of touring the city, museums and attending the world’s largest furry convention “Anthrocon” (17,639 attendees with over $100,000 raised for GreyPaws Sanctuary for senior dogs) it was time to head home to L.A. and this hotel satisfied our needs. Bob had to get me to Pittsburgh Int’l at 5am Tuesday morning (for 7am flight to Chicago O’Hare, connection to LAX) So, we arrived after 10pm and got in our room thanks to Kathleen at the Front desk - just an hour before the power outage, which caused me to not get any undies washed and dry. It was not the fault of staff, they did their best. However, I’m glad I had my fursuit bag and backpack sorted before the outage. The power did come back up before 2am and I got maybe three hours (maybe less) before checking out and Bob driving me off to the airport. It was a smart choice versus staying downtown for one more night. Staff friendly and supportive. I would return - FOUR CLAWS UP!!!! Thanks for reading my review of Fairfield Inn Pittsburgh Airport. Booked the hotel to catch the 6 o'clock in the morning. Check-in after 3 pm, the lady at the front desk was very kind and informed the details, and warmly invited us to taste the warm American cookies. The standard room is equipped with a refrigerator, coffee machine, 2 bottles of bottled water and no microwave (available in the lobby). The bathroom is wet and dry and clean. The security check at Pittsburgh Airport started at 4 am, the hotel called early at 3 am, the shuttle bus departed at 3:30, and arrived at the airport at 3:45.

Being a Gold level Bonvoy member, I try to stay at Marriott properties as much as possible. As I had an early flight out of PIT the next morning, I selected this hotel to stay at. Due to an injury I received prior to checking in, I messaged the front desk to ask them if they could accommodate me for either a closer to the lobby room or a persons with disabilities room. They were able to give me the persons with disabilities room, Room 155, which had a walk in shower. The water temperature was fine, and, for the most part, the room was a comfortable temperature. The beds were comfortable, and everything worked fine. That’s where the good part of the hotel ended. The reason for the two point dock was the front desk “supervisor” Dianne. She had a HUGE attitude problem, never acknowledged me as a Gold Bonvoy member, and when I called later on to get the name of the pizza place that was close, she seemed to want to hurry the conversation, with a snide attitude. Prior to filing a formal complaint with Bonvoy Customer Service, my fiancé had gotten the business card of the manager of the hotel. I did speak with the assistant manager Andreal via email, and he compensated me for the issues with Dianne, and said he would take care of the issues I had with Dianne. Would I stay there again? Probably, but not if Dianne is working at the front desk.
