Alicante Province Hotels with Gym

We stayed 2 nights in the hotel and had a very pleasant stay. The rooms were a good size and had a fridge, tea kettle and the usual bathroom amenities. They were clean and quiet. The staff at the hotel were pleasant and helpful. We had dinner there one evening and it was quite good. The buffet breakfast was fine and had a good variety of food. The hotel is not near the area where much of the restaurants, shops and beaches are so we needed to take taxis but it wasn’t too expensive to get there. We did use the parking garage. I have to say that the garages in hotels in Europe are challenging at times. We were driving an SUV and there are some tight spaces to get around. But the parking wasn’t too expensive and there were always spaces available.

LOCATION 4/5 If you want a cheap and cheerful hotel to rest your head and a base to explore, then this will be the place for you. I wouldn't want to stay here for a week but its ok for a few nights. Located a 5 minute walk from the beach, its in a good location with plenty of restaurants down at the beach and nearby. This is not in the hustle and bustle of the city centre and so if you would rather be more central then you could stay here and get a bus/tram into the centre. Its about 1.5 hours to walk from here to the castle near to the city centre or 20 mins by car. FACILITIES 3/5 The facilities at the hotel are pretty basic. There is one outdoor pool (not heated) with sun loungers, on site restaurant, gym and sauna, the sauna was not in use when we stayed and the gym is pretty basic. There is however plenty of gyms to use along the beach front if you want to get some exercise, along with beach volleyball, football and other activities to keep you active if that's what you like. The pool as stated is not heated so pretty cold but that can be welcoming in high temperatures but not so good for an early morning dip. We visited in September so out of season and there were plenty of free sunbeds, however I can imagine in summer season you may struggle to get one. I also found that the pool was over run by children, even when visited out of season, so if you don't like too many children I would avoid this hotel as it is very family friendly. ROOM 3/5 The room was adequate with a comfy bed, all be it the beds were just pushed together and moved about a lot and i ended up falling down a gap in the middle of them. Aircon was good as was the shower, whihc was hot and powerful. Clothes line option in bathroom to hang your wets and a standard low powered hair dryer provided. No tea and coffee facilities in the rooms, but there was a small fridge to store your bottled water. You are not allowed to consume food and drink on site note bought there so not sure what else they expect you to store in the fridge. Electronic safe in wardrobe was easy to use and free. The windows could be opened and in addition to air con is a ceiling fan if you are not a fan or air con. STAFF 4/5 The staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful and welcoming. No issues at reception or in the restaurant. We asked several questions during our stay and they were very accommodating in helping us. FOOD 3/5 The breakfast buffet is standard for Europe with some hot options and continental breakfast, cereals, fruit etc. The quality of food is ok and like I said at the beginning this is a cheap and cheerful hotel, you pay for what you get so don't expect amazing food quality. There is no allergen information so this can make things difficult if you have an allergen and you may have to ask staff to assist you with what you can and cannot eat. We really like AC hotels for comfort and value. Also the staff are usually excellent and very helpful. Our issue here was not with comfort - our room was good. The problem was a lack of staff and service. When we arrived, there was literally one (helpful) memeber of staff on reception. We would have loved a drink at the bar or in the lounge but it was shut and no room service was available. What was worse is that the bar and restaurant was not opening until 20.30. In point of fact, the bar never opened and didn't even look stocked and the place just lacked staff. The food at dinner was fine but again the friendly waiter was just under pressure. Whether it was because it was a Saturday, I don't know, but the service was non exisitent and this is a management issue not the staff that were there. There is no excuse for not being able to get a drink when you arrive at a 4 star hotel!!

Hotel was lovely very clean , cleaners were in everyday we stayed for 4 days in June it well away from.any tourist attractions so if you're looking for that maybe not for you elche town is lovely we went on a Friday night was lots of little streets full of lovely shops and tapas bars , there wasnt much in the way of entertainment , the whole time we were there we heard one English voice there was a lot of Spanish people staying at the hotel for there holiday pool is very clean they check the water cleanliness regular, we were booked b&b but we stayed for lunch too they had special lunch menu 2 courses with a soft drink or house wine was €18 drinks were very reasonable but I couldn't find anywhere that could make cocktails

Every year, due to the circumstances we encounter, this summer will be more special, so we cannot be happier. Thank you very much for making our stay so enjoyable. The cleaning staff left us those cool bags for the children, and the reception let us leave the room until 4pm. Most importantly, let Ismael take care of us in the swimming pool when the umbrella starts to give way:) We will repeat without question.

Good value for money, highlight the kindness and friendliness of the staff, good area although a little difficult to park. The beds were very good but I could hear a noise from the sheets on the roof of the terrace both in my room and in my parents' room. The food is very good although drinks are not included, not even water.

I was there with my couple during 1 week an it was a very good stay. The service is incredibly good and they are super helpful and kindly. Special mention to Merche how was very kind with us. On the other hand, it would be nice if the hotel add more umbrellas and hamacas to the pool and improve a little bit the space around the adults pool. Pd: There's an incredible chocolate cake with nuts and caramel (and a crunchy bass) that should be serve more often.

The hotel is next to the castle, about 15 minutes walk from the city, the location is OK, the breakfast is rich, the facilities in the room are a bit old, and the overall view is OK.

My friend and I are just back from 3 days staying at the Hotel Spa Porta Maris by Melia. The good points: - great location; 5-10 minutes walk to the beach, old town and promenade where there are lots of cafes/restaurants and market stalls. About 20 mins walk to the higher-end shops and El Corte Inglés department store - comfy beds, large shower, decent wardrobe/drawer space, balcony big enough for 2 - entire hotel is spotlessly clean - nice buffet breakfast in restaurant with amazing views The not so good points: - check-in was a little slow - we arrived around 1pm to be told our room wasn't ready and may not be until around 4pm. We were able to store our cases safely until then but had to get changed and freshen up in the restaurant toilets - our stay was paid in full well in advance of our arrival but they still took my credit card details. This was possibly to cover any in-room charges but this wasn't made clear - the bar seemed to close relatively early for a city centre hotel (not sure what time exactly but I think it was before midnight) All in all, I would recommend this hotel and have no hesitation in using again.
