Pension Arena Alicante

The location is very good, the house is clean and quiet, and the price is high

Incidents suffered with the Arena pension in one of its accommodations on Calle Alcala Galeano 16 - 3 floor apt 8 Alicante, from 9/21 to 9/23/2024 which is not where the Arena pension is, but in another building, but we found out about this on the fly. The price we paid is much higher than the rooms at the pension, it was € 90 per night, the accommodation was somewhere else. Telephone attention, but insistence that we go pick up the keys before 8:30 p.m., and we were not as tourists but working and visiting apartments to live. My son walked two blocks with the suitcases, to pick up the keys, drop off the suitcases, while I waited in the car parked in a double row (I do not drive) in the historic center of Alicante, and then went to park and eat something. They never indicated to us that the place where the keys were collected was not the same as where our accommodation was. My son walked back the two blocks with the suitcases to the car. Then we went the other way and tried to park, which was an odyssey. We had to walk again with the suitcases up steep hills and streets. We finally arrived at the place they told us to. The area is more or less ideal. We were very tired, having been on the road for two days without stopping, and to our surprise, we had to climb three flights of stairs with our suitcases because there was no elevator. This, like so many other things, was not mentioned when we made the reservation. The surprises continued because there was no WiFi; the signal was not reaching; it was vital for us because we were working and had to use up all our mobile data. When my son made the reservation by phone, he indicated that we were mother and son and would sleep in separate beds, but they ignored him because there was only one double bed, and he had to sleep on the couch without sheets. We showered with cold water because the water heater was off; they'd forgotten to turn it on. There was no water heater to make tea. We extended our stay for another day because the opening times of the apartments we were visiting had changed. On Sunday afternoon, my son had to travel urgently to Madrid. I turned on the air conditioning because it was very hot. I never realized that the unit was leaking water, even though it was off, and it had wet a large part of the apartment, but you couldn't see it because it's dark. I slipped, fell on my back, and hit my entire body and head against the stone floor, re-injuring my knee, which had already recovered. I was about to call an ambulance because I couldn't move due to the blow and the pain, I waited on the floor until I felt less dizzy, and then I called the Arena guesthouse, I spoke with one of the girls who works there, and then a guy named Hugo, the manager, showed up, he told me that he had just returned from a trip and he checked how the air conditioning unit was leaking water, how wet the floor was, in fact he went to get a mop from another of the accommodations, to dry it,
