Just enjoying our last day at Viva Sunrise. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough, from the rooms, pools and entertainment everything is perfect. Staff are extremely attentive and the animation team are just amazing. Location is peaceful with just a short walk to the beach. Thankyou Viva Sunrise

I don't understand all the positive reviews. So far it's mostly been negative for us. Check in was efficient and staff were friendly. But unfortunately that's where it ends for us. Having stayed in VIVA Blue last year I had presumed we would find the same level of food and accommodation. Right now I want to leave VIVA Sunrise. The apartment was dirty when we arrived. Filthy, sandy floors, fingerprints all over mirrors in bathroom and bedroom. The dirt in the cutlery drawer is disgusting. The floor was cleaned after I asked reception to do so but it wasnt a great attempt. Decor is extremely dated and the apartments need refurbishment. And it wasn't cheap to stay here self catering even. I asked for a fan because the air conditioning is non existent. They have none left, surprisingly. Service in the sports bar was so slow and the food was not nice. Everything just seems cheap yet prices are not.

This would have been excellent if the hotel hadn’t made some changes compared to other visits in the past, to me it’s gone a little backwards. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still very good & got some excellent features. It’s just the prices have gone up but the services have been taken out, obviously cutting costs etc. Shame, as this hotel really stood out to us, compared to similar hotels of this grade.

4th time staying at VIVA Sunrise. Very disappointed with our first impressions this time with the helpfulness on reception, booked a selection club upgraded room 8 months prior to staying and given a room that doesn’t include a pool view. When asked to move rooms as we assumed an upgrade would include pool view, we were met with ‘sorry it is full!’ Even though it is a selection club and an upgrade it feels like a downgraded room. Reception were unhelpful and told to come back tomorrow, with conflicting messages. We have always loved our stay at viva but poor customer service/ unclear room guidance left us with a disappointing start to our holiday 😢

Just back from 7 days half board + in Viva sunrise as a family of 4 with a 5yr old and 8yrd old. Great hotel overall. 5th floor room was a bit dated and beds not very comfy, however the bathroom was nice. They do appear to have some nicer rooms so maybe we were unlucky. Very modern hotel though with wrist ID bands for rooms and payments at bars, restaurants and even the supermarket, making it easier to not think about money/wallet when by the pool. Service everywhere including reception was very good and friendly. Free WiFi too. All the pools were great and there was usually beds available somewhere (although you had to be down at 7.30 to secure a good one for the day), with the additional 'Select Club' pool/sunbed mezzanine a great touch, and entertainment for kids at various times of day was top notch with all the staff very engaged with kids. The buffet was decent too - everything was clean and lots of staff, although not a huge amount of variety on an evening, but breakfast was always good, however both had limited options for our diary-free daughter so we had to be creative every day for her. Half-board + got us evening drinks, with scanning the table QR code to order and then seeing them delivered in what felt like seconds which was great. Evening entertainment was ok, with a good stage and seating area - mini disco was decent but music choice not as good as other Majorca hotels we've been to(few more specific English/German/Scandi songs would probably engage more kids rather than the Spanish theme), although the staff did a great job of trying to be fair, they also had the in-house character 'Bufo' on hand every night to try and sell their merchandise, which I didn't mind too much but it does add a bit of an over-commercialised angle. My 8yr old loved that there was a footy tournament every night, which saved us as most of the later entertainment didn't hold kids attention, but still alright to watch with a drink and something different every night. Location is 10mins from beach, but we didn't venture out as much as we maybe thought as Alcudia didnt do much for us really and the hotel offered enough to stay in. All in all, as this is a review of the hotel I must say it was definitely worth a visit for families with kids and a very good 4 star resort (however, If you could lift up the hotel and put it in a town like Cala D'Or we'd go back year after year).

These poor staff cannot cope when the hotel is at capacity, management need to help them. I’m rating as one star due to 2 experiences, both a result of being under staffed. 1. We were set up with a table for the evening entertainment, I took my 4yr old to the table leaving our possessions (including kids toys) on the table, 3-5 minutes later, we returned to see the whole table had been cleared and possessions could not be located - it’s not ok if you can’t go to the bathroom without clearing your table! 2. I witnessed my son (8yrs old with his own “help yourself” all:in wrist band) queued diligently to get a drink and was being continually overlooked in favour or serving the adults behind him (until I stepped in - the bar staff were very apologetic, but if I didn’t see this, he would have been ignored continually) All in all this makes me feel the hotel is under staffed in order to offer the level of service we’re paying for and certainly not inclusive of younger family members. This is our 1st time booking with a hotel other than Zafiro and the experiences are not something we’re ever seen at Zafiro. Viva will need to up their game!!! For context regarding under staffed - the staff had been complaining for 2 days prior to this that they could not cope with the level of occupancy.

I will try to share my perspective on Viva Sunrise, based on 11 visits since 2015. I want to be clear that this is my personal experience and may not reflect the experiences of others. During our last three visits, we have stayed at the Selection Club, and there I’ve noticed a significant change. Glasses and dishes are no longer cleaned up and cleared away from the Oasis Terrace as quickly as before. They used to be much faster at that. Pool towels used to be laid out every morning for everyone to take, but not once did I see that done during our five-day stay. It wasn’t until I mentioned it at the reception that things started to happen. The drink menu that you order from via QR code by the sunbeds was quite limited. There needs to be more variety to choose from. The rooms were well cleaned and cleaned daily as promised. The air conditioning in the room was also good. The rest of the hotel area is very well maintained, and the lifeguards keep an eye on things, noting on a list so that sunbeds aren’t left unused for too long. The buffet food is good, although I think it has become a bit lacking in variety. The sports bar is the biggest disappointment. Previously, they had a very good à la carte lunch menu, which was great if you didn’t want to eat from the buffet for both lunch and dinner. Now it’s more like a fast-food place, basically without table service, and drinks are served in plastic cups unless you specifically ask for a glass. Even during the evening shows, you have to go to the bar yourself to order drinks. This could take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. I believe one should be able to expect table service from waitstaff at a hotel that claims to offer high standards and quality. The same applies at the buffet – drinks are ordered via QR code at the table. Several waiters I spoke to said they don’t feel the same pride in their work after these changes. What still maintains the highest standard is the entertainment team. They do everything perfectly for both adults and children. So to summarize: If you’re visiting Viva Sunrise for the first time, you’ll probably think it’s a very good hotel. But for those of us who have been here many times, the major changes are noticeable – and I feel that Viva Sunrise is no longer that perfect hotel it once was. All the cutbacks and changes make it unlikely that I, as a loyal guest, will choose Viva Sunrise again in the future.

First time here with the whole family and has been great, staff have been so friendly and amazing all round but big shout out to Maria on the drinks truck. I’ll have grenadine in all my drinks!
