Facilities are not very clean and worn. Lack of maintenance.
The location is great. Very high price for the service provided.
Regarding the staff, only one was actually helpful and careful (check-in).

An excellent breakfast, attentive staff and everything very comfortable and clean.
I just have to mention the noise felt in the morning in the rooms facing the bridge. If staying more than one night I would ask to change rooms.

Everyone will have their own opinions and perceptions of anywhere they stay, so this is merely to give are impressions. We have just returned from staying at Vila Gale Opera. We found the Reception Staff, Bar Staff and the Restaurant staff, very friendly and very attentive. We were on a Half Board Basis and we found the evening meals excellently prepared, presented and very appetizing. The choices were wide and varied as well. The breakfast buffet was more than adequately varied and appetizing. The room was facing the 7 Pillar Bridge , and one does hear some noise, but this is more than compensated for by the stunning view of the Bridge ( during the day & lit at Night) and of the Statue of Christ the King, across the river Tagus. Truly beautiful. The location is ideal and one is only 15 minutes by tram or uber from all the major attractions that one associates with Lisbon. It appears almost as cheap to get Ubers , than to pay for 2 or 3 using the Trams each time. And no stress trying to work out which trams to get and from where !! The shower was fine and cleanliness of the room was fine. All in All, we had a great time and hope to return soon. Thank you Vila Gale.

Stay somewhere else!
The hotel has terrible pillows. Room service is not existent as no one ever picks up the phone! Same with reception - no one picks up the phone. The staff, specially at the bar are rude and the food was ok. Mini bar was never replenished. Will not recommend.

Piacevole soggiorno.
Nel quartiere dove si trona l'hotel servizi e luoghi di interesse,la presenza ravvicinata del ponte non disturba il sonno,ottima insonorizzazione di tutta la struttura. Personale gentile attento e disponibile,lingue parlate inglese,francese,spagnolo, tedesco,litaliano no,perche? SPA a disposizione degli ospiti,intrattenimento musicalle nel fine settimana molto gradevole. Camera molto pulita,teli bagno puliti ogni giorno,morbidi e profumati,dispenser per sapone,shampoo,bagnoschiuma,non le solite bustine o saponette monouso,bicchieri in vetro.La presenza della moquette all'inizio mi ha lasciata un po perplessa ma ho notato che veniva pulita con accuratezza.Frigo bar fornito. Unica nota stonata della camera,a cui secondo me dovrebbero rimediare al piu presto,è la qualita del materasso. Decisamente scomodo, ha fatto il suo tempo,si sprofondava ,probabilmente ci ha gia dormito troppa gente. Colazione a buffet ricca,personale numeroso e disponibile.

A localização é ótima. Nem todos os colaboradores são simpáticos. A piscina é aquecida, só achei um pouco estranho existirem aulas para crianças. Senti a necessidade de ter tomadas perto das mesas de cabeceira. Não sei se o facto de já ter estado em outros hotéis do grupo Vila Galé fez que estivesse sempre em comparação, mas estava à espera de mais. Gostaríamos de ter acesso à vista da ponte no rooftop do hotel, mas estava fechado.
