This is a historic hotel, but very well maintained and managed. The room was simple but very comfortable. The staff are excellent. The breakfasts and dinners we had here were also very good.

Love this historic and beautiful hotel in Petoskey. Staff is five star and food in the restaurant is wonderful. We ate breakfast there every morning and had dinner one night. By the way, Tripadvisor description indicates breakfast is free; it is not. Only negative is the heavy traffic on highway in front of the hotel. It can sometimes take a couple of minutes to get out of the parking lot.

The property is aging and shows it but the staff was exceptional. They've done what they can to keep up the property and it was certainly clean but just old.

Stafford Bayview Inn was very historical, & classy. The property goes back to 1886, which was cool. But on the other hand some technoligy could help. The elevator although very unique, & historical.was hard to use because of size & harsh moving parts!

Worthwhile Location
Lovely area for cocktail hour with bright windows. Outdoor porch has water view. Since it was our first time here, I should have been more particular about our room choice. Our room did not match picture and was quite small. Shower stall quite tiny. Noise from road was loud. These things could have been avoided with better planning on our part. Other options might have met our needs better.

What a beautiful stay. The room was stunning. Not only was it clean, but it was spacious and gorgeous. The food was delicious and beautiful. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They really went the extra mile to make us happy. When we needed food heated, they plated it for us and gave us silverware. When we had a question or request, they seemed more than happy to help us. It was probably the best service I have ever experienced. They made us laugh and they were just so sweet and helpful at the same time. I definitely plan to return. You just don’t see staff like that anymore. I haven’t enjoyed a stay like that in a long time. Amazing job!
