With my friend Helen, we were in Imlil to train berber Mountain Guides with the UIAA Mountain Hiking Skills at the nerby Kasbah du Toubkal. For a group familiarisation walk on Day 1 of the course, I thought we'd walk up to the Hotel Le Village Du Toubkal for aftenoon tea - mint tea of course. On arrival the Duty Manager welcomed us all warmly and showed Helen and I the various rooms which were very well furnished and all were spacious. mint tea was duly served to Helen and I and our 8 local Mountain Guides and we sat on the spacious sun terrace whilst going over the syllabus and in preparation for our three day trek over to the Azzenden Trekking Lodge to the west. I'd certainly like to stay here!!!

We were originally supposed to be at the Kasbah du Toubkal but Covid happened and the earthquake… so the team were good enough to suggest this. It’s their sister property and from what I can gather, just as good (we snuck a peak at the Kasbah while they were rebuilding). Consider this a boutique hotel. The grounds aren’t as expansive (you won’t get the Kasbah’s beautiful gardens) and that’s ok. The views are just as stunning on the terrace / from your rooms. Rooms and toilets are massive. Ours came with a huge tub so perfect for a warm soak after a long hike. Toiletries are basic - you are given a small bar of soap so bring what you need. There’s wifi and the mobile signal is surprisingly strong. But what really makes the place aside from the good food (that chicken tajine with the preserved lemons is yums!) is that warm Berber hospitality - evident from the time you arrive, until you leave. Service is informal but attentive and very friendly. The majority of the staff speak basic English so just be a little patient. By the end of our stay, they started to tease/joke with us and that was lovely. We truly felt so welcomed by everyone. Special place, worth a visit.

Malgré un accueil agréable modérant la difficulté d'accès , grosse déception avec le constat de locaux très défraichis, chambres spacieuses mais peu accueillantes . Tout cela manque non seulement d'entretien mais aussi d'attention ce qui est rare au Maroc . Diner très moyen, petit déjeuner très très modeste ( les oeufs durs et vache qui rit ... c'est vrai . Rien à voir avec le prix payé ( celui d'un trois étoiles).Avec le prix d'un deux étoiles nous aurions accepté sans le sourire . Climatisation récente et efficace.Nous n'avons pas ressenti la satisfaction exprimée dans la plupart des avis précédents...

L'hôtel a une vue imprenable. Il fait tellement calme que j'ai eu un sommeil profond et réparateur ! Cela faisait bien longtemps.... Le PDJ est copieux, le dîner du soir délicieux et le personnel est charmant. Je recommande vivement pour les amateurs de Hiking dans les environs.

Une vue imprenable sur le village et le mont Toubkal, un personnel super accueillant, du calme et du confort! La chambre était très spacieuse, avec grande baignoire, balcon, coin salon et des tapis partout. La décoration est soignée. La literie est très confortable, il y des couvertures en plus dans l'armoire au cas où, et un chauffage. Petit déjeuner excellent et copieux, pour le dîner on prévient en avance (un seul menu, qui change chaque jour). Nous nous sommes régalés ! N'hésitez pas à demander conseils pour vos randonnées et balades, ce sera toujours avec le sourire et très intéressant ! De là on peut descendre par des petits chemins vers le village ou monter de l'autre côté vers le mont Toubkal. Pensez à prendre de bonnes chaussures et une veste. Nous l'avons fait dans les 2 sens avec notre fils de 4ans et il a adoré, il y a des chemins faciles d'accès. Seul bémol mais ce n'est pas de leur fait... pour y accéder en voiture il faut traverser le village de Imlil puis monter par une piste à flanc de montagne, heureusement nous n'avons croisé personne, il faut être prudent. Sinon laissez la voiture en bas et montez à pieds ou en mule! Je recommande à 100% ce petit bijou caché dans les montagnes!!

Es gibt keine Adresse für das Hotel, deshalb wusste unser Taxifahrer nicht, wo sich das Hotel befindet. Erst auf Nachfrage bei Einwohnern wurde uns klar, dass das Hotel etwas abgelegen liegt. Ein Fahrer hat uns dann für 50 Dirham (5 min) zum Hotel gefahren. Said hat das Geld genommen. Wer wieviel bekommen hat, wissen wir nicht. Das Hotelzimmer war gross, geräumig und sah sehr schön aus. Wir wollten nach der Ankunft noch eine Nacht dazubuchen. Said hat uns erklärt es sei ein Familienzimmer frei für die nächste Nacht welches wir gleich gebucht haben. Die Nacht im Zimmer war sehr kalt (13°C im Zimmer). Es gibt nur eine Mini Elektroheizung welche den Raum nicht aufheizen konnte. Ein ansprechendes warmes Bad sollte den Abend retten, aber auch dieses war nur lauwarm. Am nächsten Morgen hat uns Said die Botschaft überbracht das Zimmer das er uns am Tag zuvor versprochen hat sei schon gebucht und er könne dieses uns nicht zur verfügung stellen!! Zum Glück mussten wir das Hotel wechseln. Ich kann mir nicht erklären wie so gute Bewertungen möglich sind, bei diesem Service.

Such a hidden gem in the middle of Imlil, calm and very clean property, a place to chill and also if you are planning for a walk or even to climb the atlas mountains. The people working there are fabulous, the food is to die for. I highly recommend this hotel.
