I had already looked at photos that happened to pass by on Instagram and I immediately fell in love with this lodge. What a view of the Atlas Mountains, how beautiful everything is with all those colours, so tastefully and yet simply decorated. That's where I wanted to go! Once I got there, it exceeded all my expectations, it was even more magical than in the photos. The taxi takes you to the bottom of the village, it can't drive any further, you have to do the rest on foot, along the narrow winding paths between the houses of the village. It is a serious climb. Not ideal for taking a suitcase with you. Better a large backpack, so that you have both hands free, lots of loose cobblestones that you can slide on. But once at the top you will see that your climb was really worth it. You will be warmly welcomed here with a Moroccan tea and biscuits. The lodge has all kinds of floors that you won't get tired of looking at. There is a beautiful roof terrace with carpets and cushions and a seat, a dining table where we ate our lunch. We cooked pasta in the kitchen there. I don't know if that was really the intention, because we saw that in that small kitchen all the dishes from breakfast had to be done (everything by hand). We had the feeling that we were a bit in the way here. You can also order lunch here or ask for a packed lunch. You look out over the terraces below, beautiful! The rooms are simple but nicely and practically furnished. There is good hot water. The air conditioning in the room can also serve as heating. For us that was necessary. During the day when the sun was there, it was nice and warm. Around 20 degrees. When the sun went down around 7 pm it got really cold, around 7 degrees. There are thick coats with a hood that you can use. During dinner there is a fire in 1 dining room, in the other not. So, if you are prepared for that, there is no problem. You eat very well here, extensively for only 100 Dirham. (10 euros) by candlelight, really cozy. First Moroccan bread with 2 types of olives and dates. Then a home-made fresh soup. Then a tajine of your choice: with chicken, meat or vegetarian. Then a pot of fresh fruit for dessert. It gets monotonous after 3 days, we asked if they wanted to make a salad, and that was no problem. Also very tasty, fresh, with orange, mmm... You get water with the meal, otherwise they have nothing. And anyway, there is no alcohol available anywhere here. I also think they would be offended if you brought it yourself from the airport or something... so no nice glass of wine with the meal. 😉 Most people come to this lodge for a maximum of 3 nights, not for a long holiday. Most want to climb the Toubkal. Nice to have a chat with everyone. That way you also find out what you can do in the area. We did several walks with the walking sticks that you can borrow there. The village of Asni and Imlil are nice to do. There is a narrow mountain path from our village to Imlil, s
