Fairmont Mara Safari Club

Pros: location is excellent, very nice amenities, food is very good, and game drives with Moseka were also good (despite not finding a male lion). I was injured during this trip and the nurse Betty took great care while redressing my wounds. All staff were very polite. The property itself is beautiful. Wake up service and morning coffee delivery was a very nice personal touch. View of mara river and hippos grunting away will never be forgotten. Cons: disorganised staff - they didn't know we were on our honeymoon trip despite telling them in advance. Phone did not work in the room and our room was in the far wing of the property. There were a lot of staff at the property who mentioned that they are assigned to us specifically but then we had to rely on the other staff. During checkout, they couldn't figure out we had prepaid in advance. They booked hot air balloon for us on the day of checkout only to then later rush us to pack in hurry when they could have simply told us to keep our luggage ready a day in advance.

From the moment we arrived at Fairmont Safari Club, we were welcomed like family, and our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. Room 35 was the perfect vantage point, offering breathtaking views right from our luxurious tent. We spent our days watching hippos lounging and “singing” in the river, while the Mara River itself played host to crocodiles, baboons, impalas, and even local cattle wandering along its banks—a true African wildlife spectacle. The team at Fairmont Safari Club is exceptional—attentive, warm, and dedicated to making your stay unforgettable. From Caleb, who left fun notes and anecdotes while keeping our tent spotless, to Peter, who guided us through every dining experience with genuine care, their hospitality made us feel completely at home. A three-night, four-day stay is the perfect amount of time to experience the Big Five, and with a driver like Alfred, you’re in for an unparalleled safari. His deep knowledge, sharp instincts, and local connections not only ensured incredible wildlife sightings but also gave us the rare opportunity to meet the Maasai people and witness the sole two white rhinos in the Mara—a once-in-a-lifetime encounter! A huge shoutout to Brian, who liaised with us all the way from London to Kenya, ensuring a seamless experience, including organizing an unforgettable hot air balloon ride over the Mara—truly magical! Fairmont Safari Club gets a well-deserved 5/5. From the stunning location to the incredible team, every moment was crafted to perfection. We can’t wait to return. Asante Sana! 🇰🇪✨

This was our first time on Safari and we really enjoyed our experience at Fairmont Mara Safari Club. The staff were excellent and so friendly. From Peter who looked after us at meal times to David and Nicholas who took us out on our drives each day and of course Adan who took care of our house. We went out on 2 drives each day and they did not disappoint, getting up close to so many wonderful creatures. We enjoyed the food and the service was great. In the evenings there was a cosy fire to sit by and enjoy a night cap. Overall a wonderful experience which was arranged for us by 2 by 2 Holidays.

Amazing Stay ! Amazing Staff ! Amazing Hotel The stay was enchanting. Our room overlooked the Mara River, allowing us to watch the hippos bathe daily. The staff was invariably friendly and smiling. Rose, our waiter, was perpetually cheerful. Caleb, in housekeeping, delighted us with charming notes. Moseka, our safari guide, impressed us with his extensive knowledge and knack for finding incredible spots. Nancy, the hotel manager, made it a point to check on us daily, ensuring our satisfaction. In summary, the experience was exceptional, and I am eager to return. My gratitude to Fairmont for their exceptional service!

Our honeymoon at Fairmont Mara Safari Club was the best and most memorable experience of our lives! Every moment was exceptional, thanks to the incredible staff who made us feel so at home. Special thanks to Lenkoko, who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best safari adventure; to Mary and Gerald, whose warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay unique and delightful; and to Adan, who made us feel like we had a home away from home. We highly recommend participating in as many experiences as possible and definitely not missing a safari. We were lucky enough to see 4 out of the Big 5, but also encountered so many more amazing animals. The hot air balloon experience is also a must! While it’s the most commercial, you can’t beat the breathtaking views of the plains from the balloon, and the bush breakfast included is a real "pinch me" moment. Gerald and his team are also expert mixologists—don’t miss trying their locally inspired cocktails, especially the dawa! I also had a massage during my stay which I couldn't recommend more. In terms of facilities, they are superb. The tent design makes it feel more authentic , but it's a very luxurious stay with all the amenities and services you'd expect to see at a Fairmont. We couldn’t be more grateful to the entire team and have already recommended this magical experience to all our friends and family. We can’t wait to return someday! Patricia & Seb
