Days Inn by Wyndham Airdrie

If you book the outside room it’s like a motel. The rooms are clean but there is a lot of road noise. Nice breakfast and staff are friendly

I’d like to start by saying the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful. That said, $500 for two nights (obviously prices were increased due to an event in town) and when I arrived in Airdrie the prices were almost half what I booked at) The website has photos of a hot tub- what was on site was a partially filled pool surrounded by garbage in an unlit basement. The room was a reasonable size but house keeping was lacking. One of the beds had dirt on the top cover sheet. The next morning I went to plug in a hair straightener. Outlet in the bathroom did not work, so I went to use the lamp, the lamp was not plugged in (no outlet on that wall) so it was simply for decoration I guess. I went to the second lamp on the nightstand, the outlets on the lamp did not work. So I pulled out the night stand to find an outlet. What I found was animal feces. A dried out coiled pile of feces. On top of that, the lamp was plugged into an extension cord that did not have grounding. A safety hazard. Lastly the toilet paper holder was loose in the wall so every time you tried to grab toilet paper it would twist, the roll would fall off and roll away. The staff did clean the excrement however under no stretch of the imagination was this a $200+ a night room.

Room is very very basic, over looking an alleyway littered with garbage. Hotel is very basic and slightly outdated. They have a complementary breakfast with a wide variety of hot and cold options. Staff was nice and helpful. Regardless this hotel was not, in my opinion worth $175 a night however Calgary/Airdrie that seems to be the average rates

Pillows and bed were amazing

Overall my husband and I had a really good experience. They had everything we needed for a quick one night stay. It was clean, comfortable, and I appreciated the warm cozy temperature that made it easy to sleep right away. The staff was accommodating in our late check-in and was pleasant to deal with. The only thing I would say is the toilet paper holder was loose and not glued properly on the wall but it's a minor thing. Breakfast was a good bonus as well. Parking was easy and nearby. Great work to the staff and team!
