We’re currently at Roda Beach and wanted to write this review whilst everything was fresh! We’re a family of 4: 2 adults, 8 year old and 2 year old from the UK. We’ve been to a few ‘5 star’ resorts across Europe and this was largely good in comparison, especially for the price (we paid around 3k all inclusive with Tui for a week at the start of July). It’s not ‘luxury’ but it’s good quality. An overview of the key elements: Rooms: clean, comfortable beds, cool, quiet, cot with mattress provided, housekeeping great. Fresh towels and water daily. Food: plentiful, good selection of salads and meats, not EXCEPTIONAL by any stretch but varied and the kids were also well catered for. Service very good and it was always very clean. Creperie and souvlaki bar by the main pool were great. Bars: lots to choose from around the resort, cocktails not bad at all, standard selection, great speedy service. Polycarbonate tumblers by the pool which are collected in and reused so bonus for being eco-friendly! Entertainment: enthusiastic and friendly team, plenty for everyone to do, the kids loved the disco! Location: we booked a private transfer from the airport which cost around £100 with Transfeero return. My husband and son also went to aqua land for the day which was another £100 for a return taxi as they went on a day when coaches weren’t running. Views are incredible from the beach!! Pool: this is the MAIN area for improvement by my standards, simply from a health and safety perspective. There are numerous slip and trip hazards both entering the pool and around the edges. My husband fell badly down one set of steps into the water where rough tiles had been replaced with smooth. I watched numerous people slip on their way into the pool from different access points throughout our stay. Ironically, The tiles around the edge to prevent slipping are very rough so my toddler had a lot of scratches on her! She also slipped a few times on the wet stones around the slides. The steps on either side of the bridge get slippier throughout the day: This is an EASY fix with some upgrades and I hope the resort improves for future visits. The water is salt not chlorine, which has been quite harsh on my kids eyes/ skin but not terrible. Regular showering and moisturising seems to alleviate. Pools are otherwise very clean and sunloungers comfy (bit of a scramble for them but always found some as were up before 8am) Overall a great family resort just with some safety areas to improve on - there are quite a few parts that could do with railings/ barriers just to make it safer for small kids! We stayed at a 5 star resort in Turkey a couple of years ago and paid over double for this and whilst it was definitely more luxurious, this felt like a good bargain. If I had paid 6k+ like the August rates are advertised at I would’ve been disappointed. Lots of potential to be outstanding, would still recommend as a good value family destination.
