The hotel is beautifully situated in a stunning bay with beautiful scenic views. The resort itself offers a relaxing feel with an abundance of mature trees, flowering shrubs, and greenery throughout. The rooms are spacious and offer spectacular sea views, which really enhance the overall experience. However, the hotel would benefit greatly from a much-needed investment. While charming in parts, the décor of the rooms and hotel feels outdated, and areas such as the outdoor pool, gym, and indoor breakfast area are quite basic and don’t give the 5 star feel. In terms of food, the breakfast was lovely —we couldn’t fault it. However, the resort’s restaurants are significantly overpriced, and the quality of food offered is average at best. There is also limited variety for toddlers, and no baby food options are available, though the staff were happy to accommodate us upon special requests but it required a lot of effort to organise. The nearby town, while lively and more reasonably priced, lacks culinary quality and has a rather tacky feel. That said, it does have a bit more atmosphere in the evenings compared to the hotel. It’s unfortunate that the resort doesn’t offer better value and higher quality dining, as guests would be more inclined to stay onsite and enjoy the incredible setting. The absence of evening entertainment was also noticeable. The hotel was extremely quiet at night, with little to no atmosphere, and the bar remained empty most evenings. It’s likely many guests chose to dine out due to the lack of options and ambience. Overall, with an injection of investment—modernising the facilities, improving the dining experience, and introducing entertainment—the hotel could attract more guests and truly live up to its beautiful location and 5 star hotel rating. Despite its shortcomings, the service was exceptional. The staff were outstanding—warm, attentive, and always willing to go above and beyond to meet every need which we were grateful for.
