First of all: We love Greece, so we have also visited other places in Kefalonia and Crete. Candia Park Village is our favorite - by far. We have been there three times, and hopefully it will be three more. The atmosphere is great and all staff are very friendly. They want You to feel welcome when You visit their country. The whole hotel area is kind of enclosed so You are not troubled with traffic and the children can run around without worries. The gardeners have made a huge effort in having nice lawns and blooming flowers everywhere. Paved pathways makes the impression of ancient Greece. The apartments are townhouses making it feel like a homey village. The apartments are all nice. Nice bathroom, master bed room with huge bed, nice veranda, and living room with extra beds. Huge terracotta tiles makes it all feel authentic. Perhaps a bit crowded with two adults and three teens, but smaller children - no problem. The kitchen is sufficient equipped for having lunch in the shade. Perhaps a bit restricted if You plan to prepare all the dinners for yourself, but why would you? There is an excellent buffet at the hotel with varied dishes. Fish, meat, warm and cold, and delicious vegetables. Huge pool area and only a few steps down to Mediterranean gives plenty of space for guests to spread out and find their favorite spot - fresh or salt water, in the sun or in the shade. If Your preferences are marble, glass, polished steel and employees taking deep bows to make You feel like a conqueror then there is something wrong with You so stay home. If You want to experience Crete hospitality like visiting friends and family, if You want to unwind while the kids play in the pool, if You want to enjoy breakfast and dinner in great surroundings - then You are on the right place.
