Pros: giant resort, beautiful grounds Cons: ice-cold private pool (if applicable), somewhat dated rooms, broken items (in our case, the sliding door and the AC), "minibar" is just a fridge with a few bottles of colas, extremely crowded and no management control (i.e. your on your own to push through hoards of people, some who definitely were not even staying at the hotel), We first stayed here in July of 2022 for one night. I recall checking in, informing the agent that I was a diamond member, and asked for upgrade availability. I was given the standard room. We didn't have much time to explore the resort, but I hoped to come back one day. We finally did, in August 2024, this time for 3 nights. We booked the room with the private pool specifically so we would have a private pool. Unfortunately, the pool was ICE cold. It didn't make sense. The ocean water was warmer. I inquired from the front desk if it was normal, they said yes, it's hot outside. This was not a cold pool; it was frigid. We tried, kept our legs in the water for about 20-30 minutes, but it was unbearable. Long story short, we weren't able to use the pool, and unfortunately, this was the singular reason we stayed here, as we drove from Chania. But the main reason I am writing this review is to let other guests know what kind of management operates this resort. Because of our experience, I reached out to Wyndham corporate to relay our concerns. They in turn relayed it to Mirabella, who responded: "Your original reservation was for a Deluxe room with Private Pool as allocated. During your stay, the hotel was fully booked, and unfortunately, we were unable to upgrade your reservation despite your valued Diamond member status." ===> I wouldn't be able to prove otherwise, but I will say that when the receptionist asked me to physically write my Wyndham number on the hotel invoice - despite the fact that it's on my reservation - that indicates to me that they have no idea about the Wyndham statuses. "However, we ensured the room was equipped with the designated amenities and perks, including the welcome offer and two gift bags filled with our company’s goodies." ====> This is the part that bothered me: flat-out lying. The only thing waiting for us in the room was a broken sliding door and an AC that wouldn't go below the equivalent of 80F (they ended up fixing it on the 2nd day - the guy said they put the filter in wrong and he had to find a new one). We were not given anything at all. "Regarding the pool and water facilities, the hotel does not have and is not mentioned in our site that our outdoor pools are heated. They naturally maintain a pleasantly cool temperature, offering relief from the high temperatures, which ranged between 35-38°C during your stay. Our indoor pool at the spa, however, is heated to a comfortable 24-26°C." ====> Again, my fault for not bringing a thermostat. There is something definitely wrong with those private pools. I've jumped in plenty of cold pools i
