Hermes Hotel

The hotel is in a good location in Agios Nikolaos. Shopping, restaurants and cafes are all around the corner. A bit tough to get here with a car though, neither Google maps and Waze couldn’t give a good route to the hotel street. We arrived with a different route every day. Parking is also a bit problematic if you arrive after 5 pm. Hotel itself - breakfast was nice with good bacon, eggs and some different food every day. Fruits and Greek joghurt were our favourite. Dinner is not as tasty and delicious as eating in a Cretan restaurant, but everyone will find themselves something they like, because the menu is different every day. Staff is very friendly and helpful, they were always wearing a mask due to covid regulations, so couldn’t see too many smiles. The rooms are truly a bit outdated but everything is in place - fridge, AC etc. The sunrise from sea view room was amazing - not sure when was the last time I saw such a beatiful sunrise. The rooms were pretty quiet, sounds from the street wont’ reach the room due to a good door between the room and balkony. Everything was clean. The hotel has a very nice pool with plenty of room to sunbathe. The only big problem with the pool and sun were the sunbeds - but I can only blame the people. Although reserving sunbeds was not allowed, some people brought their towels to reserve the beds, but did not come to the pool for another 1-3 hours. So the view of empty sunbeds with towels on them was very frequent and because of that plenty of people had to sunbathe on the floor or in a normal chair. The beach around the street from the hotel - this one is man made and there is no big difference between the pool and the sea. The beach has a lot of rocks if you want to swim. We booked for 7 nights in this hotel in Agios Nikolaos. The location is perfect by the sea coast, there is lovely blue flag beach right next to the hotel. Breakfast is nice with high variety of food, service excellent and the hotel staff- always kind and helpful. We have double sea view room on the 7-th floor, over the pull and the bar, but it turns out that it can be quite noise at night. If you want more quite room you should mention your preference.

To Jack the entertainment manager, we had so much fun stretching by the pool and water gymnastics!!! we have never laughed so much. I wish you every success in the future. Fantastic stay, had planned for over a year to take our two children for a great holiday before exams and university etc so wanted everything to be right. Not disappointed, the Hotel was spacious and Staff were very friendly. Food was out of this world and a great location over looking the Sea and 5 mins walk into Agios Nikolaos. Great Gym and also tried out the Spa. Would definitely recommend and go again. Thank you all at Hotel Hermes and Jack (activities coordinator) for making our family holiday so memorable. Visited middle of September for a 1 week. Transfer from airport to hotel took over 1 hour + 1 hour sat on coach waiting for someone! By the time we arrived we had missed the all inclusive but found dried up sandwiches and soft crisps in our room. After that things did improve, although the rooms need updating they were fine, in the morning we did ask for a kettle, a mattress topper and extra pillows which were all sent to the room by the time we went back later in the day. Cooked breakfast was always cold but plenty of other things to choose from, lunches either at the pool or in the restaurant were very good as were the evening meals. Low key entertainment throughout both day and evening which suited us fine, good strength drinks🍷 Swimming pool was freezing, the sea was definitely warmer. Lovely to be able to walk into town which had a good selection of shops to browse and plenty of bars and restaurants to be able to sit and people watch. Very much enjoyed a relaxing week in the sunshine ☀️

Very well situated with an amazing view to the sea. The room was very nice and cozy. Excellent food and attentive service. I felt just like home. I definitely recommend it! Hope I can come back soon. Thank you for this beautiful experience.
