August 2025 and our THIRD time staying at Marika hotel. And we loved every minute of it! From the night manager greating us at arrival with a big smile and remembering us from out last trip, the receptionist being very helpful and always with a big smile to all the people working at the hotel being so kind, welcoming and great - we both feel like we were given princess treatment the whole week 🤭 Specially when the hotel found out that we had a birthday during the week and we came back from the beach to cake and wine in the fridge! The staff and owners at Marina really go that extra mile to give the guests a good experience! The rooms are clean and bright, this time we got one of the ‘older’ rooms (some rooms were new the week before we came and some have been redecorated the last years) but even the ‘older’ rooms are bright, modern, clean and nice! New towels and bedding every other day to every day, always nice and clean in the room (sorry for the sand we dragged in😂) - and a nice, clean and modern bathroom. We love spending time at the beach most of all, so we also appriciate that the hotel is right on the beach with a nice beach bar ‘Waves’ open from early morning to late night, with great food and the best drinks! (Thanks Marios!!❤️). All in all had a great third experience at Marika and we will definitly be back!

Viaggio di coppia. Hotel ben locato al centro di platanias e a due passi dal mare. Permette di spostarsi facilmente verso chania e verso la parte ovest dell’ isola (balos, elafonissi…) Ristorante dell’ hotel sul mare (Waves) dove abbiamo cenato una volta e fatto colazione tutte le mattine , location suggestiva, servizio ottimo e buono il cibo. Abbiamo preso una camera piano terra con idromassaggio esterno, molto bella ma acqua non risclaldata. Altra pecca, letti singoli uniti. Parcheggio vicino all’hotel. Molto consigliato!

We booked a Hotel close to the beach in the sun. Went for medium quality/prices. But got much more than we thougt we would! The Hotel appers new, located pretty much on a nice beach, very clean rooms, a cute plungepool, and a staff that really made our stay a plesant experience. We usually dont visit the same place twice, but might have to here 🥰

It was the wow factor for us, from our warm and helpful greeting at reception from Konstantina who was very welcoming, friendly and professional to arriving in our room with a stunning sea view, clean and modern. The pools are inviting and the hotel is right on the beach. The town has loads of restaurants and shops.

Super good hotel. Nice rooms, super clean, modern, friendly staff, good food, good beach. We had to change hotel from our first, as the standard was so bad, more a getto. Big thanks hotel Marika for helping us. Strongly recommended.

The best part of the hotel was it's view. We took a sea view room and it was perfect. The rooms were clean and the hotel staff was courteous. The breakfast at the restaurant waves had good variety even for vegetarians. The sea view with breakfast made it even more memorable. The Italian restaurant at the hotel is amazing too. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good stay for a reasonable price.

Traumhafte Aussicht,aber nur mässig empfehlenswert
Vorteile:
- perfekte Lage gegenüber verschiedenen Läden, Bushaltestelle und Post
- zugehöriger Parkplatz direkt neben dem Hotel
- Restaurants ganz in der Nähe (wir empfehlen insbesondere das Olive Tree)
- nur bei Zimmern mit Meersicht: atemberaubend schöne Aussicht, allerdings sieht man auch auf den Pool; andere Zimmer sind jedoch nach unten versetzt (sozusagen im Keller) und haben überhaupt keine Aussicht (nicht empfehlenswert)
- Essen direkt am Meer/Strand
Nachteile:
- die Professionaliät des Personals lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig: Die Reception war meistens nicht besetzt (die zuständige Person war am Plaudern/Flirten mit dem Barkeeper). Einmal war das Zimmer bei unserer Rückkehr nicht geputzt worden, was mit einem Schulterzucken quittiert wurde. Beim Frühstück flirtete einer vom Personal offen mit einer Touristin (bzw. sie mit ihm) und das vor allen Gästen - extrem unangenehm!
- das Badezimmer roch schlimm und das Wasser lief aus der Dusche ins Bad
- hellhöriges Zimmer, das sich ausserdem nicht ausreichend verdunkeln liess (wir mussten ein paar Tricks anwenden, um schlafen zu können)
- das Frühstück war ok, aber die Fruchtsäfte waren vollkommen künstlich und absolut ungeniessbar
