I do not understandnd the awful reviews for this hotel, though most of the few one star reviews contain a similar theme and maybe they should just stay in their own country. We loved this place, its a five star three star hotel, if that makes sense. To save me a lot of unnecessary writing, read all the five star reviews from the previous two weeks. These folk were there around the same time as us and obviously shared a similar good experience. The hotel had a lovely vibe about it, a feel good place. The staff are all smiles, the cleaners do a great job, the bar staff are super hospitable. They earn very little and tips mean a lot. I have little to do with animation teams but my partner was involved in poolside games, zumba, water aerobics, the foam party, she had a ball. The team work all day from 9 - 12, their enthusiasm is very infectious. Breaky was fine but no fry up for the brit die hards. Lunch was great and varied each day, the smell from the charcoal barbecue assaulting the senses. My first tip is dont go for dinner till after 8, avoid the crush! Bring a kettle for your room. You can have all the bottled water you want but they are small bottles. There is a shop across the road that sells bulky large six packs for very little. For poolside drinks, bring plastic beakers (no glass allowed) with you. The hotel tries to be green and they welcome your effort, beakers are far nicer to drink from than the tiny paper cups. The pool gets full sun till about 4.45, if you bag a sunbed near the bar end you can catch rays till 6. You will need to get up early and play the towel game for that! If you have read all your books, go see the guy who hands out the towels, he has some discarded books stored. If you love cats, bring a few treats for the various moggies on site. My partner took whole fish from the restaurant for the kittens numerous times and the staff had no problem with that. There are five tortoises roaming the grounds, if you care to find them, they love a bit of munch from the salad bar, total bliss if you give them a strawberry! The house beer is Centennial, very moreish and quite pokey at 4.7%. Generous measures of spirits (even more generous with an occasional modest tip). Wine tastes are subjective, I never found one I liked but surely a couple of hundred french cant be wrong, they were loving it! The rose was very popular. Cocktails were just one shot plus fruit juices, not all that. Good cocktails in the bar across the road, 6 euro each. So, like the other recent five starrers, we had a wonderful time and we will be returning - for Christmas. Cant wait.
