Danae Hotel

Having just stayed there I was amazed to see anything other than five star reviews for this place. It’s not five star luxury of course but it is very clean, the food is good, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the pool is beyond lovely. It’s an easy walk downhill into town and a tricker walk back up, but a taxi is €5 from the town to the hotel so really easy. I would genuinely really recommend Hotel Danae. I was a bit worried having seen some of the reviews, but there was no need. It was great!

Excellent friendly hotel, super clean with daily room servicing (including fresh towels every day), good breakfast, pool bar serving a good variety of food. Fantastic views, especially from upper floors, just a 10 min walk to town and sandy beach (there is access to sea directly below hotel but very rocky.) Taxi back at night only €5 if you can't be bothered to walk after an evening in town where there are lots of bars, restaurants, shops etc. Hotel can organise car hire starting from €50 for 24 hrs. Would recommend Danae to anyone heading to Aegina.

First time in Aegina. Stayed in a garden room. Great bar, nice food and drinks and very reasonably priced. Very professional and helpful staff. Great location but slightly out of town...20 minutes walk. Very peaceful. Beach across the road. Beyond expectations!

Stayed here for three nights and was lucky enough to have a room on the upper level. The view over the ocean was amazing. The hotel was maintained to the highest of standards and the staff were excellent. Breakfast was good with ample choices. Would love to stay here again.

Lovely hotel in quiet area within walking distance of Aegina Town Center. Soundproofing between rooms was not great as you could hear people visiting the bathroom during the night! Good breakfast buffet, lovely pool and friendly helpful staff.

This hotel is about 15 minutes out of town. It has a lovely pool setup and a nice pool with a bar and small restaurant. There is a free breakfast with extensive choices. The rooms are small, but adequate. However, the WiFi is nonexistent despite having 4 different networks. If you want to be able to check email, etc., its almost impossible. You certainly wouldn't be able to Zoom or Facetime. It was,impossible to watch even short videos. The hotel caters events. During the three days I was there, the pool area was unavailable twice. Once it went on until fairly late in the evening. As all the rooms are by the pool (and mine was on the ground floor), it was very noisy. The hotel also seems to have a late night owl crowd who come back about 1 am and sit by the pool and talk really loudly. The hotel advertises that it is close to a beach. And it is, but it is down a goat path that is extremely steep with no railings. So it isn't easily accessible. Also, the restaurant is only open from 12- 6. Restaurants in town are at least a 20 minute walk away. I missed the closing one night and hiked 15 minutes to town and found not a single restaurant. Further, the roads aren't great to walk on, especially at night as they are narrow and twisty, so you run the risk of getting hit by a car. I wouldn't come here again.
