It is a lovely place. Nice and well maintained. I think the food was ok, and nice pool areas

This is actually the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The bedroom/living area itself was OK but needed a deep clean and there was even crisps left on the floor from previous guests. The bathroom however was FILTHY. It was disgusting. Do not book!!!! The grounds of the hotel were also very grubby. From overgrown grass, limescale, mould, broken tiles and glass etc. I can’t believe this is rated as a 4* on some websites. I’ve stayed in nicer/cleaner 2* hotels in Benidorm.

Typically I don’t write reviews, but this time I will…. All bed sheets AND towels were dirty (they are white and you can see black spots everywhere). At cafeteria all furniture were very dirty. The hotel given water tasted very bad, so we had to buy it from supermarkets. The staff at the cafeteria was terrible (mostly). They are probably trying to econom on the air conditioner, so at the reception and at the cafeteria it’s not even turned on. So have in mind that when you will check out at 11;00 AM, if you will have to wait for a few hours it will be terrible experience, because it’s very hot there. Rethymno Residence hotel deserves maximum 2 stars - everything needs to be renovated - even air conditioners are working poorly. Plates and cutlery mostly were dirty - you have to SEARCH for clean ones - can you believe that - 4 star hotel??? Waiters are grabing the plates and barely asking if the meal is finished, so you always feel the pressure that your plate could get taken. It’s very annoying.

The worst hotel no Beach ketchup was available for only 1 day room looked like Jail ac was broken and the hairy staff member was walking like a king and and the Food replacing was doing 1 staff member i asked where was the nearest pizzeria or restaurant with pizza reception told me 7 km away and was next hotel

The hotel does not deserve 4 stars; it is more like 2 stars. There is a constant shortage of towels (they were either not replaced or there were too few), and in the restaurant, there was always a lack of cutlery, plates, glasses, wine glasses, and coffee cups. We had to use plastic cups and cutlery, which should not be the case in a 4-star hotel. The rooms were dirty, there was mold in the bathrooms, and the housekeeping either did not clean the rooms or did so very superficially. A broken shower in the room was repaired after 2 days despite numerous requests. The pool water was dirty (they only added powdered chlorine to the pools every evening) – after swimming in the pool, my daughter got a genital infection and I got an ear infection. The pool had damaged tiles, which did not meet safety standards (several people cut their feet and had stitches in the hospital during our stay). There were unsecured open manholes by the pool where children could have fallen in. The showers by the pool were dirty, moldy, and smelly. There was an unpleasant sewage smell near the room. Honestly, I do not recommend this hotel; we do not have high expectations, but this hotel is below all standards. Don’t go there; this hotel should be closed and renovated. Moreover, there is only one main buffet, not several as stated in the offer. There are only 2 functioning bars (one of which is self-service only for beer and wine), and the main lobby bar is not operating. The only plus of this hotel is the water slides in the pool. The evening entertainment is terrible and only happens 3 times a week – a magician’s show (one person fooling around), belly dancing (very weak, with 2 dancers), Greek night (only 2 men playing and singing, with no dancers). The bartender at the pool bar tries to be eco-friendly and asks for plastic cups to be returned so they can be refilled and thus reduce the amount of plastic used, but it doesn’t matter because the hotel uses tons of plastic as they have no glasses or plates!!!"

I never been before, in so bad hotel. Maximum 2*. The food and some parts of the staff was acceptable, the rooms, the overall infrastructure is very poor. We had to move 3 times because of bad room conditions. First the AC went wrong, in the second family room there were not bed for 2nd kid etc etc etc

On the evening of June 24th, disposable cups and glasses came to an end. It was necessary to reuse the same ones for both soft and alcoholic drinks. There is no hot water in the morning. During the entire period of 7 nights, they did not fix the air conditioner. Apply to the reception every day. A stranger comes, says you need to call the service, like that every day. The shower door does not close. Outside, palm tree lighting in the evenings, 2 out of 6 lights are working. Others are broken or not working. They didn't fix it in a week. The same with other lights. Check out at 11:00 a.m. and immediately cuts off the bracelet after everything has been calculated and does not eat. You sit and wait when you are homeless at the reception. Although the bus only picks up from the hotel at 1:15 p.m. The food at the hotel is unimpressive. Although there were sometimes fish, beef, pork, chicken, squid. Rice with seafood. Breakfast is standard fried, boiled eggs, beans, bacon, salad, sausage, salty sweets. Coffee only at breakfast. Beer, wine, soft drinks coffee, tea by the pools from 10 am to 10:45 pm. or during lunch and dinner. A type of restaurant where they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are tables outside. One field is open to eating, the other is not, although there are no signs. In a typical gym, every second exerciser does not work. Hotel between two roads. It is about 150m to the sea, but you have to go through the territory of another hotel. It does not match the price and quality, and 4 stars is what is advertised, maximum 3 and that is difficult. Some of the rooms have been renovated. But where in life it is not really updated. The area lacks care for both vegetation and buildings, it needs repair or at least basic painting.

An unpleasant experience. My biggest anti-recommendation for the Rethymno Residence Hotel. Never go all inclusive. We are a family of 6, one child, on holiday on Crete for a week, we bought our trip through the Best Servis agency from Coral Travel. I never leave bad reviews, but this time I will because we haven’t had this bad of an experience even in Egypt. - Pillow fee. We only found out about this when we arrived in the hotel. The travel agency didn't think it was important to inform us in advance. For 7 days x 7€, total 49€. The best part of all this is that you can't pay by card, ONLY IN CASH, because they keep separate "black books" and it's just extra money in the hotel's pocket. The icing on the cake, was the fact that there are plastic cups and straws everywhere in the hotel, just another proof that they are just taking money for nothing. - Towels. Bring at least one extra towel from home if you don't want to have the receptionist's eyes bugging you every time you come to get a new towel. On the very first day, it was immediately said that since they are "pollution friendly" and are trying “to save the environment”, please do not change the towel for the pools every day. Even though we were by the sea, by the pool, I had the same towel for 3 days. When I came to pick up a new one, I had to listen to the moral again of how not to change the towel often. Absurd. - Food. There is nothing to eat for the kids, we had to go to cafes every day to feed the child a full meal. Same menu every day. Everything is semi-finished/fast food:croquettes, pastries, fries fri, fish, vegetables frozen just warmed up. There is no choice at all. Only at dinner there are 2-3 dishes which are cooked by the cooks themselves, not semi-finished fish or meat of uncertain origin. First holiday of my life, after which the whole family even lost some weight. After lunch there are snacks by the pool. The word SNACKS alone means snacks, but no, it's not pizza or burgers, it's like salad, fake fish fingers and pre done potato purée. Wines are diluted, there is a difference between womens like day and night with the wine which is by the bar poolside and wine which is in the canteen. - Service staff 😳 Brotha ew! We travel a lot, but I've never seen such rude, arrogant staff anywhere. What you ask for, you don't get. Neither hello nor good wishes. When putting food on the table, when going to the table, they are constantly throwing angry glances, playing like little children and gossiping amongst themselves about the guests staying in the hotel. They make eye contact when you are eating downstairs and grab your plates even though you have not finished eating, so that you get out of the place until the hour clocks 9PM. The day before the last day, my dad was unwell, he had sunstroke, high tempature and didn't turn up for his evening meal, so I took a banana and a pear from the canteen to take to his room. I wrote a review 4 years ago which is printed below. Corona has been hard for all of us but hotels even worse. After making a reservation again this year I read some very negative reviews of this hotel which fortunately in my view were, at the very least, spurious. All 4 rooms that our family had were superb. The service was most polite, and I found the meals delicious. My son and wife are vegans so they were not so satisfied. The pools were clean and my grandchildren were simply ecstatic to go swimming every day. The beach on the sea was close and of course they loved that as well. The manager told me that they are renovating the rooms this winter. The bathrooms are the most important to improve . BTW the wifi was 10 times faster this time. I know because I measured it. Our whole family including 3 generations found this hotel more than satisfactory. Pools and slides for the children, good beach, plenty to do for the parents, and quiet relaxation for the us grandparents. Excellent cuisine for all, spacious suites, top notch cleanliness, and out standing courtesy from all the staff including the gardeners, waiters, cooks, receptionists, house maids and manager. I definitely plan to bring all of our family again.

Stayed here for 11 nights August 2023, The worst hotel I have ever stayed, cleaned our room twice and we constantly told them it hadn't been cleaned and they came at 6pm, broken furniture, the room smelled of damp and had mold. The restaurant was disgraceful never knew what anything was, everything was cold so had to eat out every night the world cuisine is Fried egg or pasta. Never saw the pool s cleaned, stated adults only pool area not got one. One bar that was dirty and drinks rancid. The list goes on and on, first time in 30+ years I wanted to get on the next flight home it was that bad, And Tui are an absolute waste of time.

I agree with other comments that it was dirty, unhygienic, and hotel also has some plumbing problems. Add to that, for additional services you are able to pay only in cash, and they don't have breakfast boxes.

Avoid! Hotel is dirty, room looks like I wasn't clean for good few months! We had a room with pool - massive mold on the wall next to the pool. Bathroom dirty , smelly and small! No lifeguard on duty - this meant to be family hotel! On a water slides- out of control! People using inflatables on slides- kicking other users, pushing ect! Overall one * I think would generous! Do not waste your money find another place to stay! I do understand covid hit industry hard but to keep hotel nice and clean is not a difficult job. Food - average always the same- not too much choice.

We have stayed there for a week, 29th July to 5th August. Hotel have all facilities as you may need, but the clean is very poor. The room was not cleaned all the week, only few towels changed once. Shower is very small, it is difficult for a tall person. Hotel have AI program. Restaurant 3 of 5 stars, breakfast always the same and after few days get bored, dinner and lunch have not rich variety of food. Hotel is second line, you have to go through other hotels to the beach. Beach is very rocky there, so you will need shoes. Hotel hasn't a parking, so you need to leave a car on a street.
