First and foremost, the staff at this hotel were excellent, polite, helpful and very cheerful. The food,in our opinion, was exceptional something different every night and four courses to boot. There is always a but in reviews and we have several. The room was adequate but did need a bit of refurbishment. Also, for a four star hotel I would’ve thought bath robes and slippers would have been provided particularly as there is a swimming pool but it is a walk away and a robe would’ve come in very handy. My main niggle with our room, was the bathroom. Less abled guests would find it more than a challenge and from what we could see the clientele was of a certain age. The bath was on a plinth which made it very difficult and very high to step into, the glass panel was almost ,at times, impossible to slide over. Perhaps a rethink and changing the bathrooms to walk-in showers would be the way to go. The bar definitely needs an update. The choice of wines was very limited perhaps a look at the excellent New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc would be a good idea. Also the wine cooler either needs replacing or adjusting to make the wine a lot colder. Just a suggestion, perhaps ‘cocktail hour’ would be a good idea have a proper cocktail waiter or a retrained member of staff, cocktails are very popular and do generate a good return. The last thing and the biggest ‘ but,’ is the signage on the front of the hotel it is very misleading. On booking it specifically says ‘beauty salon’ on trying to access this service we were told that it no longer exists. I was directed to a salon in the town. This was a big factor in my husband booking this hotel in the first place as he knows I do like and take advantage of this service. this was a big disappointment and needs to be sorted. Lovely scenery and beautiful location.

The hotel was built in early 1900s. Views of golf course, beach and sea. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and large bathrooms. Lovely balcony from the room. NO FRIDGE NO AIR CONDITIONING DIRTY WINDOWS Great breakfast All breakfast items available to eat( cereal, fruit annd yogurt )There is a menu to choose from including hot breakfast items. The evening meal consisted of 4 courses at £38 per person. We didn’t choose this due to the cost and too many courses. There was no other food option in the evening. Recommendation to hotel*** Offer two course and three courses each day and people will stay at the hotel to eat and drink *** The staff were polite and friendly. The pool and hot jacuzzi was lovely and we made the most of the sunbeds. Overall we had a lovely stay.

Well as frequent travellers we just encountered the worst booking experience of all time! Calling the property direct, we asked a few simple questions, as a few words we were searching the website for are hidden and not so obvious. What an absolute tool on reception......she was about as obstructive as it gets, continually voicing 'its all on the website' Traveller Warning alert.......avoid calling this hotel unless you want your day ruining by the awful attitude.

Just returned from our third stay at this beautiful hotel having on this occasion spent four days celebrating the start of my octogenarian period. Being able to enjoy a few days at this acclaimed hotel is a privilege as places of this quality are rare in this beautiful part of Wales, as it is somewhat of a culinary dessert. This hotel is stunningly situated above the Aberdovey Links Golf Course with extensive and uninterrupted views over the sand dunes and beautiful vistas across Cardigan Bay. We were also blessed on this occasion with beautiful sunshine and to be able to enjoy a bottle of Champagne from the comfort of our superior sea view room, relaxing on our balcony was simply pure joy. The hotel offers unrivalled hospitality with a daily changing four course menu, and a full Welsh breakfast, and a very tasteful ambiance has been created throughout the hotel. The Trefeddian provides unsurpassed hospitality for its discerning travellers. Thank you to all staff at the Trefeddian Hotel for the service and hospitality received and for a truly lovely relaxing stopover. We shall look forward to returning in the not too distant future, and can recommend this hotel without any reservations.

Beautiful location and hotel views. Staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. With a short walk to the beach or into the village, which was extremely clean, well mannered youths, with no graffiti, even the town public toilets were clean. Hotel breakie was wonderful, really set you up for the day. Dinner was very tasty and nicely presented too. Nice to chill looking at the sea, in the garden, with the bar and lounges close by, very relaxing We will definitely be back!!
