Aberdarron is a charming little village, with extensive sandy beaches. I first visited in the mid-60s with 2 fellow students from London Uni. We rarely washed or shaved, and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the peninsula, which seemed relatively unspoilt. 60 years later, cleaner and heavier, return most years. It is still relatively unspoilt. We felt peckish, and this hotel restaurant ticked the boxes. Prompt service, but not rushed. The view was the beach. The food was without fault - cod for me and scampi for my wife. We would come here again.

Friendly welcome and fast check in. Hotel room spotless and cozy. Great view onto the beach. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and food was very good, good service. Slept exceptionally well, beds very comfortable and temperature just right. Breakfast was very good, great choice and service speedy and friendly. Would 100% recommend and will return

On a cold, wet and windy day we arrived in Aberdaron looking for warm comforting food. Most restaurants/cafés were closed. We saw a cafe that was open, but sadly was cold and uninviting. At 14:15, we thought we were going to go hungry, but then we noticed the Gwesty Hotel. On arrival at reception we were greeted and directed to the restaurant/bar and given a table by the window. Told the kitchen closes at 14;30 so we promptly ordered some drinks, a lasagne and a baked potato. The beverages arrived before we had taken off our coats. Then like magic our food was delivered 3 minutes later. In my 70 years on this planet, I have never experienced such amazing home cooked food in a matter of minutes. The staff are so pleasant and attentive. Cannot wait to see you again!

Right at the end of the Llyn peninsular, so its a fair way from Caernarfon let alone W. .Yorks. but it's still no excuse for not returning in 43 years as this is a great pub in a stunning setting. No doubt the personnel has changed many times in the intervening years, but the location has not and the beach is up there with the best as are the views. Good beers and friendly service and the sunniest/best weather of the year to date was the icing on the cake.

This unassuming hotel from the street hides a secret sun terrace facing the beach, which affords magnificent views across the bay. We visited on a sunny February lunchtime and got a warm welcome. The menu is large and has all the usual pub food favourites. I tried the scampi n chips, which arrived quickly and was nice n hot. The scampi and peas were fine, the chips were soggy, which was a shame. I watched other meals come out of the kitchen and they all looked tasty too. Prices are very reasonable. While the food may be short of top-notch, the view and ambiance from the terrace are exceptional. It’s a the perfect spot for lunch when the sun’s out, as the view across the horseshoe bay is magnificent. All the crew were friendly and helpful. This is a must-stop place if you are in the area.

Took advantage of the 3 night winter break special rate. We have stayed in this hotel before and love the location right on the beach, the friendly staff and the warm and comfortable bedrooms. Aberdaron is very quiet at this time of year but the hotel is a perfect base for walking in the area. It is a pleasure to come back to the comfy rooms which have excellent central heating and good bathrooms, we also had a sea view from our room which we would always request. The breakfasts are excellent and the ordering system very organised. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and the food quality is great and portions plentiful. The breakfast omelettes are well worth a try. We ate in the hotel all 3 nights of our stay and again food quality and value top notch. It’s not ‘fine dining’ but tasty pub style food with plenty of choice, perfect after a day out. Lovely comfy beds, quality linen and towels. Can’t think of any negatives.

Aberdaron is a tiny village on the edge of the Lyn Peninsula. The hotel is situated right onto the beach - with just 11 bedrooms. If you’re looking for a corporate hotel - this is not for you . If you are looking for a small , friendly hotel then look no further . The food in the restaurant is very good - my husband recommends the curry . Breakfast is great too !

Check-in was simple, as the room was pre-paid. A complimentary car park voucher was issued. The sea-view room (#6) was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was huge. We had dinner in the bar area, and there was a 5 piece live band on. A sunrise beach walk (accessible directly from outside the hotel) set us up nicely for a full cooked breakfast, which had 'proper', good quality ingredients. The '10am check-out' is not conducive to a relaxing stay. I fully appreciate that the housekeeping staff have a job to do, but when breakfast is only offered 8.30-9.30am, it doesn't give you much time to let it settle, before having to depart. Just an extra hour until 11am would make a big difference.
