Check-in was simple, as the room was pre-paid. A complimentary car park voucher was issued. The sea-view room (#6) was spacious and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was huge. We had dinner in the bar area, and there was a 5 piece live band on. A sunrise beach walk (accessible directly from outside the hotel) set us up nicely for a full cooked breakfast, which had 'proper', good quality ingredients. The '10am check-out' is not conducive to a relaxing stay. I fully appreciate that the housekeeping staff have a job to do, but when breakfast is only offered 8.30-9.30am, it doesn't give you much time to let it settle, before having to depart. Just an extra hour until 11am would make a big difference.

We are very familiar with Aberdaron, having holidayed there for years, but this was our first stay at GwestyTy Newydd. We enjoyed 2 very comfortable nights stay and would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. The bedroom was spacious, perfectly well equipped for a weekend break - the bed was very comfortable. We particularly liked the inclusion of comfy armchairs to relax in, in the room - especially when the sea view is there to gaze at! There was a good selection to choose from at breakfast and the cooked breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked with thick cut bacon to die for. The hotel is right on the beach and the outside terrace has an all weather cover so you can enjoy a drink looking out to sea whatever the weather. The staff are always welcoming and friendly at Ty Newydd, so 'diolch yr fawr' Iain and team for a lovely couple of days.

Beautiful place to stay for 2 nights of our walking holiday. Gorgeous location on the beach. Lovely and friendly with nice welcoming staff. Brilliant food and highly recommend this for a stay. We ate here both nights of our stay and the food was superb quality. Lovely breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Great quality packed lunch with lovely sandwiches. Superb large room with sitting area and spectacular view across the beach. Loved hearing the sea at night from the room. Great spacious bathroom too.

This was the worst customer service experience I have encountered in Wales. Myself, my partner and 2 children decided to visit the pub for a hot drink (Monday 19th August) to get out of the wind and rain. We noticed around the back there was a terrace and thought it would be nice to sit inside looking out at the view of the sea. As we were entering from the cold just before 5pm, we were not greeted but aggressively told by a lady (senior member of staff in her 50's) on entry "you can't sit in here, as all tables are booked out at 5:30". In shock, I kindly explained that we were stopping for a drink and will be out well before 5:30 to which the lady let us choose a table considering the place was almost empty with 1 other family and 1 man sat alone at a table. I was taken aback by the rudeness but thought I would give them a chance. The table we sat at said booked out at 6:15 so we had plenty of time if needed. I then ordered drinks at the bar, 2 hot chocolates (1 plain for me and 1 with cream and marshmallows for my daughter) and a latte - I paid for the drinks and sat down to await them being brought to our table. Another member of staff with dark hair and glasses (another senior member of staff) then came to our table and said the same repeated message of "you can't sit in here, as all tables are booked out at 5:30". I then turned and explained what I had already said to the other member of staff 5 minutes previous. The young waitress who served me behind the bar brought the drinks over. My 8 year old daughter says she was the only polite member of staff we encountered on this visit, if this is what an 8 year old can observe then there are issues here. I walked out in to the terrace to take some photographs as this was one of the reasons I wanted to visit. The views were stunning and the only thing I rated about this place. As we packed up and were leaving the pub (before the 5:30pm curfew) the first member of staff we encountered then said "goodbye". I then turned and explained to her that I had just experienced the most unwelcoming visit I have ever had to a pub. She then said sorry and explained that they needed the table back for 5:30. I then said we didn't feel welcomed and we could have been accommodated in a different room or on the terrace if this was an issue. I asked if she was the manager, she said she was not but that she was a senior member of the team. Unhappy with her attitude I explained that I will be writing this review to which she said "you can write a review" and apologised again. TLDR: A disappointing visit to a pub in a great location by poor customer service from senior members of staff.

We booked lunch for the 4 of us the day before by email and given a choice of times.Drive over from the other side of Pwelli in the sunshine and found a parking space easily.Added bonus was a free table on the balcony! Service was prompt, all the staff very friendly and the food arrived really quickly and nice and hot.Decent portions , nice desserts and the price with drinks very reasonable.(Loos very clean too).So glad we followed a friends recommendation to visit. We had a wonderful trip- Thanks to all the bar and restaurant staff , we were happy to leave a decent tip as well. Richard and Jill Charles and Caroline

An absolute gem of a place slap bang on one of Wales's best beaches. A friendly bar with a selection of local ales and an affordable menu offering a good range of dishes for all tastes, whether in the restaurant or out on the hotel's beach terrace. Sit back, relax with a pint of Purple Moose and watch the waves crashing on the beach below. Marvellous!

Great place to eat with fantastic sea views, good menu from simple sandwiches to three course meals of the highest quality at reasonable prices. I need to have a minimum 200 characters so I'm struggling a bit but I'm almost there...........

Great food great service great location. Where better to eat your evening meal that in the the Tŷ Newydd Hotel. Situated on the sea front with amazing views over the sea. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Food was great. Only one critique and that was that the pepsi was very flat. Will definitely be returning

We come here every year - great hotel , small and friendly. Views are fabulous. Food great , rooms great too - nothing not to like . As ever , if you are wanting somewhere with great nightlife and require being entertained every second of the day then Aberdaron is not for you. However , if you like walking , great scenery etc then you must definitely visit . There is no parking at the hotel - but this is not an issue as you are given a pass for the car park nearby.
