We had the most relaxing stay at Blackhill Woods Retreat. The whole place has such a peaceful, calming atmosphere – the perfect escape. Our room was beautiful, with a really comfortable bed and the most stunning views out the window. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with plenty of fresh, healthy options to choose from. The whole vibe here is just so serene. What really made the experience extra special were the hosts, Simon and Eilish, who are so warm, welcoming, and genuinely down to earth. We left feeling refreshed and would highly recommend Blackhill Woods Retreat to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Beautiful house with the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Lovely antiques, only thing that didn't go was the cream carpet, can't imagine it's practical either. Fab continental breakfast in bed with delicious juice, yogurt, home made muesli and bread and great strong coffee. So peaceful! Lovely owners who dried my phone on the stove for me when they found I'd dropped it outside. Would be lovely in summer when you can sit outside and look at the woodlands.

Bellissima struttura immersa nel silenzio e circondata da un parco rigoglioso. La nostra camera era molto ampia, arredata con gusto e cura dei dettagli, un bel balconcino affacciato sul verde, il letto extralarge comodissimo, un bagno spazioso con una bella vasca, doccia e doppi lavelli e ottimi prodotti nel set di cortesia. Purtroppo la colazione (servita in camera all’ora concordata) è stata proprio al di sotto delle aspettative. Eravamo stati informati dal proprietario che non avremmo trovato la tipica colazione irlandese ma un’opzione più sana. Veramente scarsa la quantità e la varietà dell’offerta: due ciotoline di confettura (sufficienti per una persona), una coppetta di yogurt (peraltro ottimo) e una di frutta, cubetti di burro e 4 fette di pane tostato, spremuta d’arancia e caffè. Decisamente migliorabile.

Bed and Breakfast here is so peaceful and quiet, with a very friendly welcome and very comfortable beds. Breakfast is brought to your room and is a great combo of fruit, granola, toast, yoghurt and tea/coffee - perfect. We felt very relaxed here and would happily recommend it. Quite a lot of things to do nearby. We had a good evening meal in Abbeyleix.

Our stay at Blackhill Woods was very relaxing! The room was spacious and beautiful with large windows and a very comfortable bed. Everything, including the bathroom, was very clean. The highlight of our short stay was definitely the breakfast in bed!
