The accommodation impresses with its exceptional service, well-equipped spa facilities, and delicious breakfast. Guests appreciate the comfortable rooms but express dissatisfaction with the high prices and quality of food.

The hotel is stunning, it has the wow factor as soon as you walk in. The decor is outstanding. Although it cost £10 for a tea and latte it was enjoyed on a very comfortable sofa in front of a roaring fire. Food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonable (ish) compared with the drink prices. I only wish our stay could have been an over night one as I would have loved to see the rooms. I would highly recommend this place for a family get together or birthday celebration as it feels very special with a luxurious feel to it.

Treated to the Classic Afternoon Tea by our daughter and can say we were very impressed with the whole experience! The building, interior decor and cleanliness just outstanding! Shown to our table by courteous, friendly staff and didn't have to wait for our food at all. Superbly presented and everything tasted delicious. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again with our whole family. The ladies cloakroom rivals London Ritz!! Thankyou for a very enjoyable afternoon.

We came to The Elms Hotel & Spa as a Christmas present for my partner. We both throughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend to a friend and come again. We stayed in a comfy room which was plenty big enough for the two of us, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was HUGE. We had full access to the spa from check-in until check-out which was lovely. We especially enjoyed the sauna, steam room, hot tub & I think aromatherapy shower (not entirely sure on the name but it’s basically that). One of the best spas we’ve been to so far! We also had a reservation in the Badgers restaurant which was absolute luxury! I would warn be careful on the added extra costs such as bottled water and sharing breads as we didn’t realise that they were extras until our bill came at the end. If we’d have known about the bottled water charge we would have asked for tap water. The food however was fantastic and we were recommended a lovely bottle of wine to accompany our meal which finished it off perfectly. Food for us was: Bread to share: Warm, freshly baked onion bread with a Parmesan butter & apple chutney. Starters: Prawn gyoza with a mushroom tea & a duck leg thingy. Mains: Beef fillet & ribeye steak. Dessert: white chocolate cheesecake & hazelnut fondant. We were very impressed with our stay overall and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Thankyou so much to everyone at The Elms Hotel & Spa for making our stay so special.

Received a gift voucher for Afternoon tea for two. The grounds and hotel were lovely and staff polite but this was quite possibly the worst afternoon tea I have ever had, and we have had afew !! We advised them before we went that one person had a fish allergy so we were given 1 salmon and cucumber finger sandwich and 1 cucumber finger sandwich, who only serves 1 finger sandwich, and just cucumber no other filling?? The cakes were really disappointing and the red velvet square was the smallest thing I have ever seen! The eclairs were peanut butter and jam, and not very nice, even the macaroons were poor. Such a shame as it wasn’t cheap, came away still hungry and I don’t think that has ever happened to me before after an afternoon tea!!!

I stayed here this week for my 31st birthday with my boyfriend. Check in was easy, taken up to our bedroom could already tell it was a very luxurious and unique hotel. The decor is superb. Our room was amazing we were in number 1. Massive bathroom with a bathtub separate to the shower. Bed seemed uncomfortable and over the night it definitely was uncomfortable. Tossing and turning because it was hard and lumpy but the bed was huge. Also be aware the walls aren’t sound proof so you could hear people going into the next room etc. The room also came with a hair dryer although ours weren’t working too well and also tea and coffee facilities and cute little chocolates with the elms on them. We did go to the spa aswell however was a bit disappointed with it. It is quite a small spa so for the amount of people in it it was quite overcrowded with nowhere to put your towel etc or sit really because the seats were either taken or had towels on them from people in the pools. Maybe more pegs would be better?. If I’m coming to a spa I want to lay out on a bed and chill and couldn’t do that here. The pool was also quite cool and could have been hotter then I would have spent more time in it. Jacuzzi was lovely and there was 2 steam rooms and a sauna there aswell. Locker rooms was lovely had straighteners and a hairdryer there to use. Staff are very friendly and happy to help with anything throughout the hotel. Later on at night we went to the bar. Boyfriend said £6 for a lager which is the hotels own brand was a bit expensive baring in mind it also didn’t taste the best. Bought a cider that was also I think the hotels brand and it was awful. It’s ok if you’re happy to spend the money on the alcohol they have there and you like gin, vodka etc then it’s for you but unfortunately just not for me. Breakfast was nice but I don’t think it was worth £15pp. You could tell though that the sausage and bacon you got was of a premium quality brand though. The dining room experience is absolutely beautiful!! The grounds are magnificent if I came in the summer I would definitely of been having a good look around. Amazing decor and had a great time just a few little niggles that would have made it 5 star for us.

We stopped on the dining package, one nights stay to include breakfast and £49 each towards the evening meal. The hotel is lovely, friendly staff, very nicely decorated and fitted out. In fact the interior design really makes the place seem quite exotic. Our room was large with a big double, I would have preferred a softer mattress, if I’d stayed more than one night I would need to see a physio! The room was really nicely decorated with tea, water, chocolate and apples in the room on our arrival. There are dressing gowns and slippers in the room to use at the spa. My only real gripe (I could live with the bed) was the shower which was over the bath. I’m sure they’ll get round to updating the bathrooms but ours although large was not reflective of the hotel. Anyone elderly or with mobility problems would have struggled with the bath/shower. I don’t think many hotel guests prefer a bath nowadays- so that was my only negative. Our breakfast was great and the dinner, the staff were excellent and service was very good. It’s a nice place just for a meal, but obviously the spa encourages a stag over. The spa itself was superb, very luxurious. The jacuzzi was lovely and hot. The main pool was too cool for me. But the room itself was warm and comfortable. It was a little busy when we first got in, with no seats available but eventually we got a couple. The gym is not bad, lots of running machines. I would have preferred a few more body building machines but the weights room was excellent and quite large. But to use the weights you need to be a bit more of a serious gym user than me. Overall the whole experience was great. Goosed value. I would definitely recommend for a celebratory stay.

Fantastic stay at The Elms. We had a very warm greeting from Sophie who was fantastic. Our luggage was taken to our room and we relaxed in the bar with a cocktail until it was ready. Our room was large and clean. Spa use and breakfast being included in the room rate was really brilliant and we spent all afternoon using the spa facilities, which were lovely and clean. The only feedback is there is not enough seating round the pool and no loungers - this would be very disappointing if booking a spa day but as a hotel guest it wasn’t a problem. The food was great, hot and delicious. The decor is fantastic, service was attentive and we had a brilliant stay. We would highly recommend.
